Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber

yea I guessed that last year and burned out looking at catch buttons. I don't think this is that, it comes with a disc/washer type thing beneath it, Roy has one too now

I missed that. Did he post about it?

Roy has one too now

Mine is the way it looks without alterations:

This makes me think it’s some kind of captured spring push button and the flange around the bottom is to stop it from popping out of its socket. For example a pistol magazine release button like James Kenobi 1138 said earlier.

Yea, I'm sorry, it was on facebook I didn't realize you hadn't posted it somewhere on the RPF Roy

The knurls are very worn down - this object takes a decent amount of force

Or something heavy above the object that gets slid around. A "foot" for some kind furniture or perhaps for heavy equipment (more likely since you don't want such things to slide around, and this part is knurled.)

I know there are lots of guns where you would push a small spring-loaded button that size/shape to release a stock or release the upper from the lower or something like that. 1000s of guns have buttons like that, if that is what was used it would be a needle in a haystack to find the correct one.

The angled sides and the flange make it look (to me) like it fits in a square opening (or a square hole, if you prefer)

I don't know if hands can wear down steel like that on its own. Can it? I think the wear implies that it was on the bottom of something. IE - Feet for a camera, a mount of some kind; anything to keep it gripped to the ground. Would these then also come in a set if they had some for the V2 laying around and to cast for the bunker detonator's greebs? Or is it just a singular part to a larger thing also torn down for components?

Just an appropriate picture related to a cool story to be revealed later about the mysterious chunk.
