Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber

Looks good Roy ... however I still feel that the lever should be a little more round after about 1/3rd from the screw till the end and it remains hollow on the inside till the sharper tip :unsure

I did like the inside look of your previous attempt ... just needs to be more round on top and indeed more pointy towards the tip ... I think :unsure

That said having seen the larger picture with less distortion :

I don't know what to feel for that lever anymore ... I just know it when it's right ... from my guts I suppose :wacko

As for the activation board ... I have the distinct feeling the truth is between Slothfurnace's upgrade by scarf man :

and the one made by Kurtyboy earlier, which he was going to clean up a bit more if I'm not mistaken :unsure

Roy that looks excellent! It may not look as curved because Roy has the lever all the way down in his images. The prop photos show the lever raised a bit away from the clamp, perpendicular with the hinge, emphasizing its bump!

This was my take on the lever. Still have to round the back off, but mostly happy with shape.

I think the light in the pictures is the problem. There are shadows which may look as if the lever is curved a little bit more and in the next picture it is the other way around :wacko
So I'd say Roys lever is as near as it could become from the pictures only.

After seeing the new top photo that you've just posted, Chaim, I think I may change my opinion to the end bar being attached to the horizontal line (that is closest to the horizontal center axis of the board) now. It does appear attached to me, in that image.

As morgan63 pointed out to me ... is it possible the upper line on the activation board is a mere reflection of the clamp just above?

The silver/blue color matches the clamp more than any other line on the board or is the color of the clamp lip reflected onto the solder line on the card? :wacko

The hole is on your model though? Since even though we don't know how it's plugged, we know there's the hole there? Or do we not even know that much, so you're leaving it off (better safe than sorry)?

I left it off for exactly the reason you say. I don't have any clear pics of that section, so I don't want to just start drilling holes into the prop. If Brandon shares more info at a later date, the hole can be added by people then.

What I'll probably do on mine before that day comes is buy a fillet screw, ground the threaded section off and put a radius on the bottom to match the radius of the pommel with my dremel, and then superglue it onto the pommel. That way, if new info comes up, I can just pry the screw head off without any real damage to the prop

Further tweaks.

That looks better, well done.
Hi everybody,

I'm posting my take on the lever design here and I hope to be able to offer this lever soon on WannaWanga.com!
It's an updated version after some comments in Anakin Starkiller's thread and carefully reverse engineered from Brandon's images.

I also undid the perspective distortion for the pictures/video taken at SWCA:

I see what you're saying, but it looks like a silver color between the connections. I don't know, I'll take a step back and let someone else give it a go.

For the chunk I've asked Brandon for clarification a few times personally and that's what he's told me.

Thanks for the clarification Scottjua. :thumbsup
So what do you think it is? Machine key? Bar stock? Strange headed bolt?

I wouldn't say that this is a reflection.
If it were a reflection the lenght of the reflection should match the length of the clamp, shouldn't it?

Is it clear what I mean?

I don't think so either; the line is not only shorter, it is also clearly BELOW the edge.
