Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber

I don't but - for documentations sake - it looks to me like the bottom of the lever starts at the hinge, and thins, then there is another bump before it swoops back out again, towards the tip.

Edit - it looks like we are seeing the second bump on both sides of the lever, due to the angle. Like seeing all 4 legs of a table when looking at one side.

Since the longer lever has been on it since Alec used in in ANH I'd probably look at levers on different pieces of camera equipment- flashes, large format cameras, camera cases, etc. It's very possible the lever came off a different camera mounting clamp that was not Graflex based.

Perhaps this might shed some light in the right direction : a pair of vintage dental pliers

These particular pliers might be to big to represent the lever that was being used
however perhaps one of us might be able to find them in the appropriate size?

I'll have to beg to differ. While they're a great shape, what we're looking for has a pin hinge in the corner, and is most likely a frame of stamped metal (top and sides), hollow, and not a solid piece of metal.

maybe something more like this (with the shape of those teeth pliers!

I have found zip on camera clamp levers so far....*grumbles*

I'm no goo with photo software, but I outlined what IMO would be our lever in scottjua's photo :)

Here's an original clamp with longer yet not screen-accurate lever coming from an unknown vintage flashgun from Oz :

Though the clamp was actually a bit to wide to fit this lightsaber this was fixed by means of a piece of fake-leather inside
the clamp yet non-detectable from the outside!

Perhaps a modified grenade pin?

Maybe not the pin, but the lever itself could be an option. It doesn't bend back i the other direction, like bicycle brake levers. It also has a pin hinge, and is stamped.

Now we just need to find one with the right shape

Good thinking!

I found a number of similar shape.. but the only issues is scale. The grenade levers seem way too large.

Wasn't it determined that the v2 was missing one or both of the bars? If so, that could affect how useful any particular lever might've been.

Just a couple more ideas to throw out there to hopefully get the creative juices flowing.

Modified Barette/hair clip?? Disregard the bedazzling.

Some sort of Alligator Clip???

I thought those on the bottom might be tie clips but I looked around and most have the needed tabs on the alligator side. :/

It looks like there is a ton of black paint on the pommel.

Were the Throne room scenes filmed before the Sail Barge?

it could have been, I didn't think so, but you are right. You could see a lot more of the metal in Yuma.

The other scenario would be...since those props were all from the same cast - there could have been more than one from ANH, painted black. It's a stretch, but hey

and that lever, it has similar properties. It isn't the same type of lever though.
