clamp is more open and the lever less turns screwed inside?

As is, without a board in place, the lever will happily sit further open as seen on the original.
Therefor, once tightened you could indeed achieve screen accurate positioning.

Just got mine in the post today, those clamp levers are superb!!! Its been a great week , picked slothfurnaces cards from the post office and they are just as brilliant. Now all I need is to get on the next lightsabre run!!!!!!!

Yes, thats the inference.

The real world explanation is probably "close enough", props just weren't high on the continuity list like wardrobe and makeup.

Nice I love seeing builds come together! Luke V2 is probably my favorite lightsaber.
