Interest Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit (first article pics added post #189)

Re: Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit (pics added post #41)

Can someone explain the symmetrical/asymmetrical aspect of the ROTJ hero, and why asymmetrical is the way to go this time around?

Re: Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit (pics added post #41)

Based on the pic below of the screen-used ESB and ROTJ sabers posted in the thread mentioned above, the ROTJ hero looks to be about 105.3% of the length of a Graflex:

http://i1346.photobucket.com/albums... vs. ROTJ with lines_zpsqne4inzj.jpg~original

When I saved this image after drawing the red lines, the lines shifted a bit upwards. Feel free to disregard them and measure the two lengths for yourself, dividing the smaller into the larger to see if you get a result more/less than 1.053.

So according to Darth Lars in another thread, the length of his 3-cell can vary from 26.9cm (10.6") to 27.2cm (10.7"), depending on whether or not the bottom tube is push in vs. pulled out all the way. There is this .1" of play. Assuming 10.65", since we don't know in which position the bottom tube was in in the photograph above, and assuming the 105.3%-larger calculation is correct on my part, I get about 11.21", or about 11 7/32" as the total length of the ROTJ hero.

What do I win? :D

The clamp on the Graflex doesn't move or change size so use that as your ruler. ;)

The width of the grip rings on the original prop were uneven. Nicksdad's past ROTJ heros were idealized to have even grip ring widths. This time around he's planning on staying true to the original prop and having uneven grip rings.

Definitely interested pending final details! As far as changes, put me in the accuracy over idealized camp!

Interested, depending on unexpcted bills ;-)

I'd be interested in copper if it didn't alter the price too much

Count me in please and I would prefer the design updates.

Interested pending final details. I would prefer accuracy over idealization so aluminum is good with me. I would also be fine with it being fewer pieces if that helped price or was easier. (The two part neck and main body could be combined).

I am going to have to withdraw my interest unfortunately, other financial burdens take precedence :$

Re: Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit (pics added post #41)

O.K., I've got the sizing to where I am comfortable with it at right about 11 1/4".
What I need now is one of those castings that a few members were selling a while back of the original saber.
I know it is undersized but I am trying to get the angles as correct as possible on the V grooves.
Does anyone have a casting that I could purchase or borrow to assist in my endeavor?
