Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. Luke begins!

Just got these sent through this morning. Its the first test with clothing that I have seen. This is just loose cut & by know means finished but its more to see what looks right. The head will be lowered slightly on the armature as well when it is cast & completed. As with the taun the Luke head will be resin to retain the detail longer. The Jacket material is pretty close I think, once it is stitched & tidy + weathering & some snow I reckon it will damn close. What do people think so far?

Not much. The awesomeness is so huge on that project that it fried my thinking apparatus, these lines are typed with the last remaining spark of sentience ...

Looks FANTASTIC (...wipes tear of awe from eye)!

I really admire the commitment you have made to this project, and willingness to share it with us.

I can't wait for the next photos!

Thanks David, I doubt I could ever do this and not share it, Seriously though all the credit goes to Jim, he's the one working the magic I just had the idea & the drive. I really appreciate everybody's words of encouragement here.

Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. Luke begins!

Looks great Guy! Using real fabric seems quite a challenge, and it'll be awesome when done.

I agree with the neck shortening - it seems a little long.

With the fabric on it I don't notice what I thought was a proportion problem. It looks better now. The torso looked a little long compared to the legs - like the crotch needed to be higher or legs a little longer. It didn't look that way on the bare armature, just the sculpt. I'm not trying to be too critical here. It's just something I noticed that I thought might help.

Looking forward to seeing this evolve. It's an extremely ambitious replica that'll really be a one of a kind.

Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. Luke begins!

Looks pretty spot on, but I disagree with the neck shortening. The original Luke looks like his head is slightly moved forward and down but if it was straight and errect it would be longer...

Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. Luke begins!

My work mate has just looked at these pics & said "I've never seen Morph with clothes on" He's no longer my mate :lol

This wont mean much to people that aren't over 30 & from the UK?

Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. Luke begins!

Re: Luke on Tauntaun Stop motion replica. First Pull

The new Luke Armature has finally arrived & is a much better looking skeleton. Clay work has begun on the sculpt so not to long before another update. Nice one Jim, looking forward to seeing this come together.
