Hello All,

So, I want to finish my macrobinoculars build and I need a transition box. So, since I haven't been able to find one, I figured I'd make my own.
If I can get 20 people to go in with me I think I can do these for under $80.00 each. You can see the 3d model above

If you're interested at this price point and willing to put your name down on the sign up thread, please post here.

Thanks

Dan

im in for a transition box, need a lense plate as well if anyone has any ideas.

(got me some lenses woop woop)

Can you show any evidence to indicate that this is how the original was made? If not, please stop trolling my threads

Hi Starkiller,
I don't think Lichtbringer is trolling, I may be wrong, but that is my understanding as well about the transition box being constructed from sheet metal. Wish I can find the literature for it, perhaps other members can chime in!

Most replicas have been constructed that way. But I haven't seen anything to indicate that the original was constructed that way. If there's something I missed, I would love to see it. I am always trying to refine my replicas to be as accurate as possible. And a productive discussion about accuracy is always welcome. But, chiming in with "make it the accurate way" I don't find helpful. As far as I am aware, all we have are shoddy photos of the original. And the the best guesses that I've heard is that the transition box is part of a camera, which would make it a cast or machined piece, since camera bodies or accessories are not made from folded aluminum. I'm certainly not claiming that folded aluminum is necessarily wrong. But, I don't think that their's a definitive "accurate way" to make this part, since we know so little about it.
