*Luke ANH Macrobinoculars body found. ARCHIVE PLEASE!*

which clever guy told the "number-one-google-hit" that the Eumig was used in SW ?????
He allready offers another one but for 299 Euro instead of 59 Euro !!!!
Clever, really clever !
And you`re really wondering what happend with the market prices ?

(sigh) happens every time.

Folks, let's agree that the next time any of us makes a big discovery, just silently, slowly start amassing multiples of the item (if it's affordable) by yourself or with a trusted friend or three and then when a nice stock is grown, offer them to board members at a fair price.

Good work on the research, though! This has been one of the longest SW prop mysteries!

Who goes around telling people 'These things were used in Star Wars'? It escapes me entirely why anyone would do this, ever, at least people from here anyway...

As Puslerifle fan said, it now jumped to 299 instead of 59 Euros, and theres one on eBay that says 'Star Wars' in the title. Don't you people know how to ask for something without giving away any information that would drive the price of a 5 dollar item to 300-500USD?

That's as bad as the story I was told that this guy could get Graflexes for $30, but one day some guy went to the same shop and told him the flashes were used for Star Wars, and the vendor moved the price up to $500.

Seems like in telling people these things you're just shooting yourself in the foot and making other people have to needlessly pay more...

Yeah, pretty dumb. I'm not going to bid up the one on Ebay either....it's more of the same, shooting ourselves in the foot that is.

Let the guy with the one for 299 euro sit on it for a few months, he'll get the clue.

I've just checked that 299 Euro one - it's not the correct model as it has a ribbed casing.

Howard.

It's possible the dealer just Googled the camera after he had so many requests and found this thread!

I tell you..we are own worst enemies on these found items.

You would think folks would learn by now.

Be cool...buy one at the low rate...don't blow your wad over this.

I have said it again and again.....

As long as we are willing to pay 1k for WWI grenades and such....and now...go all over the internet to try and find a old movie camera and offer more than the norm..getting all the camera guys going hmmmmmm.....nothing will change.

"Hey...do you have any film cameras like this...I will give you $300.00 for it!"

Next post here from that same dude...

"Why are these things so expensive now?"

Big duh there, huh?

The price of these things will come down. They are not as rare as say Hensoldt scopes.

There is an initial craze because it's the "latest and greatest" but the bottom line is it's a relatively obscure prop that needs a lot of conversion work.

Eventually I imagine the prices will be around Graflex level.

sorry, but the model is the same, scroll down and you`ll see.
I`m not talkin` about the Eumig electric above.

Whyever, the word "Star Wars" isn`t there now, the seller removed that one for some reasons. I didn`t dream of this, you have seen it also, right ?

Well, maybe he`s a SW fan and member of this board

Be sure that you`ll have the chance to buy lots of them on eBay for a normal price via buy-it-now option. Our universe isn`t that big that each non-prop-guy will know about his "treasure".

BTW: what happend to the image on page 1 of this thread ?

I friggin don´t believe it !!!

That is the guy who I won the auction from yesterday night !!! He told me that he didn´t find it !!! But just now I got the email with his bank account !!! Aw man !

Okay, this was the no.1 hit for austria, and it surely wasn´t me who told him the starwars story. I just asked how common they were and if he could get more of them.

But I suspect that he got more than one call today, and I bet he asked one of the callers/emailers what is so special about this thing, and surely one unsuspecting/unexperienced dimwit blurted out with this sw-stuff.

And since he hesitated to send me an email the whole morning, he surely hoped that he´d be able to hold on to the camera some time more or have it somehow disappear ?

Well, can´t blame him for trying to make a few bucks, though ;-)

I friggin don´t believe it.

"Keyword Spamming" (using trademarked words to gather greater hits in searches) is against Ebay's policy. Maybe someone turned him in for that.

Michael, report him to eBay. Lying to the winner of an auction about not finding an item, just to turn around and repost it at a higher price, is such a blatant abuse that they might actually DO something about it for a change.

I swear to God!! Some of yall are idiots!!! Most of us know better than this but there are few of you that just can keep your mouth shut!!!

I also agree!

There are ways of camera/camera parts hunting without letting on why it is you're looking for a paticular item!

DAMMIT ! I'm pissed too.
I could have gotten a bunch of them CHEAP here in Austria.
Some $%&& must have told EVERYONE in Vienna that is was used in SW... THE PRICE HAS GONE UP TO 220 bucks!
I may have gotten 20-30 pieces for 30 bucks...

Maybe nect time.

But Howard, it was VERY COOL of you to share your "discovery". i guess NO ONE blames you...

Another observation...

I have a feeling that the lenses may NOT be 35mm camera lenses, but possibly be lenses off the later 8mm sized movie cameras???

The black piece between the lenses and the Servomatic now looks to be just a spacer or adapter for the lenses to attach to. Aluminum possibly?

Any other thought's?

Again... MAN was this a GREAT find!!!

Way to go HOWARD!!!

HOWARD! HOWARD! HOWARD! HOWARD!!!

Maybe we all should wait a couple of weeks. The prices should go down.. Y'know, supply and demand...

I'm still at the source of the cameras (MADE IN AUSTRIA)
And I'mm willing to let everyone to have one at the price I find it...
