*Luke ANH Macrobinoculars body found. ARCHIVE PLEASE!*

The lense looks pretty close, but I could use a better picture showing the entire lense, or it seperate from the camera if possible.

Also, the cover of the finder looks right...but how tall is the viewfinder itself? The viewfinder on the macros sits fairly high on the camera body. The knob looks a little less like the macro ones to me though.

I`m working on better images, sorry for the Mickey-Mouse-sized pics but Google found only ONE image

To be honest I think there is "something" between the finder and the Eumig body which came not from that camera. Like the "plate" where both lenses were attached.

These are great finds guys! Fantastic stuff!

I agree - let's not drive up prices on these. Be smart and keep the SW tie-in to yourself for Pete's sake! I can't believe that seller on eBay did that to you!!! PLEASE DON'T BID ON THAT AUCTION!

unfortunatly the one and only image was on a HP which was updated last year

Regarding the flip up viewfinder, those things used to be as common as hell on cameras before the use of prisms for through-the-lens viewing. Tons of 120 (and not just TLRs) and even 35mm cameras had them. Pulseriflefan's pix look pretty damn promising.

Pulseriflefan is a prop God when it comes to finding the unfindable. On the Aliens Legacy board he is solely responsible for many miracles. If anyone can find these he can.

You are NOT wrong!

Those are both CORRECT, IMO!!!

I've studied the Macrobinoculars prop for many years... you've nailed them!

WOW!!!

Hi folks,

following the disastrous yet somewhat amusing development of online prices for the eum. ( maybe abbreviation and or a little wrong spelling will prevent this from showing up on google
icon_lol.gif
), I came up with the following idea.

Why not somehow divide the searching areas between members that live in or near the country where the euimg was made as is still quite often to find ? According to the partilucar euimg seller I bought one from, it is not that rare. it is somewhat an inbetween.

Should help keeping a low profile on this. Of course two dozen emails and calls from the all over the world make a small vendor suspicious.

So, what do you think ?
Any other suggestions ?

Michael

DOH! Shawn finally let the cat out of the bag...

..and that was done BEFORE the Eumig discovery.

Great job Shawn!

after checking the images of the real prop I`m not too sure that there are two different macrobinos.

The lens I found is getting much longer when you turn the distance ring and you can see some sort of round attachment ring like on the images on the PoSW site. IMO one lens is just "turned out" and the other "turned in" on some prop images.

just my 2 cents,

Stephan

The thing is, there are discernable differences other than just the length of the lenses (differences in the viewfinder, number of knobs, details on the body), though you may be correct that the Macros have the same lenses, but one lense is simply adjusting longer.

Good to know!

Why is it when something like this is discovered we always seem to have at least one PLANK

in our midst who seemingly enjoys driving up the value of worthless junk 10 fold?

The following comes to mind...
