In regards to the ice pick, my old boss worked under an engineer who made a lot of stuff for films in the '90s -- while making Batman Forever he was able to pick up some cool toys: Batarangs and utility belts. I was told he made the pick used by Catherine in Basic Instinct... he had a resin cast of it down here in NZ, anyway. And yes, I'm trying to find him (and it). I think he may have only had a copy of it and that it was actually a found item (wires crossed somewhere down the line).
