The guy in the cabin was the prop master, Rob Kyker:

The voice in that scene was Carlton Cuse. My guess is that it was just a placeholder, since they hadn't cast either Jacob or MiB yet, and probably doesn't mean anything. But the question remains as to who it actually was sitting in the chair.. Jacob or MiB?
And just because I can't wait two weeks for the next episode, I wrote this:

...where I let you in on how you can tell when Christian Shephard is Jacob and when he's the Smoke Monster.
One hole in that theory. While Christian was talking to Frank and Sun, MiB was over on Hydra Island with the Ajira survivors. He's fast in smoke form, but probably not
that fast, and there's some debate on whether he can cross large bodies of water in smoke form.
The only mention of clothing I've ever heard before now was that one of them wears white shoes, the other black. I didn't realize that it was limited to only those two complete outfits (never paid much attention).
What's odd about Smokey's discussion with Jack is that it implies that Locke's body had to be on the Island in order for Smokey to assume his form. But he's done it before.. he appeared to Eko as several people he killed in his past life (at the same time.. neat trick). Yemi's body was actually on the Island, so that's explained easily either way.
The horse is a damn good question. It wasn't white, though.. it was black. And most definitely there.. Sawyer saw it, too, so it couldn't just be some kind of hallucination.
Walt, now... hoo-boy. Here's a theory, and it's my own: That Walt is dead. He appears only with the Whispers, and we know what those are now. Remember back in S2? He appeared twice to Shannon, both times soaking wet (did he drown?), and both times speaking backwards. Most people assume that he was a manifestation of the real Walt, held by the Others elsewhere on the Island and over at Hydra, psychically projecting himself. Possible, but I'm not convinced. And then there's Tall Walt. Sure, the actor was older.. that's a given. But John even made a point of describing him as being taller. At that time, Walt was still only ten years old.. they'd only been on the Island a few months total by this point. So.... future tall Walt travels back in time and dies? Or does time no longer matter to those who are dead, and he can appear at any point in time, even though his death may lie in the future? Just a theory.. hehe. Hopefully we haven't seen the last of young Mr. Lloyd, in any event.
Speaking of Walt.. I'm surprised no one has talked about the dream he had about Locke. That he was back on the Island, wearing a suit, and there were people around him who wanted to hurt him. Surely Walt of all people can tell the difference between Smokey and Locke. And when Smokey took Locke's form, although he probably was wearing a suit when he first appeared (the burial suit), nobody around seemed to want to hurt him. I think Walt was talking about something that we haven't seen yet.
More theories to digest... what about the Hurley-bird? The producers even hinted we might find out something about it before the end.
Okay.. enough typing.. I'm tired.
