Actually I'm pretty sure Alex Winter only wore one specific jacket for the promo shots and movie. All the others were stunt and back-up jackets that were never actually worn by him. Even in this picture of the vampire staking scene he's wearing his own jacket. You had the motorcycle, the bridge, and the killing scenes that would have required a stunt back-up. I think there was probably only four jackets total. The stunt and hero that went to auction, The Great White Hype that was gutted and ruined, and the movie/ promo jacket.View attachment 1458680

There were actually six of these jackets made. As for which ones he did or didn't wear, I'd have to ask him.

Im almost positive it's part of the matador's cape, but what part I'm stumped. Any ideas anyone?

$8.95 plus shipping 3-4 weeks from SweetlySynnD on etsy. The digitizing fee is already paid 3"×4". I'm not entirely happy with the patch. One, I think the tail is too big. Two, the wings are not connected to the head. And three, the banner is tapered, not square. The wings are kind of squashed down too, maybe if the tail is a little smaller she can fix that also. I have been looking at this thread for ages now and I finally mustered the courage to start my replica. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. It has been super helpful.

So, I have been working on my second jacket (2.0). The first was pretty good, but there were some small mistakes that kinda bugged me. That being said, I wanted to take the time to share some of the less visible areas with everyone hoping it will clarify some Grey areas. Now I by no means claim to be an expert, or claim my jacket is 100% correct, it is my interpretation of the photos I have studied. Of the four jackets we have photos of, they are ALL different. I was kind of leaning towards the movie version, however I did not put the number 13 patch on top of the orange live to ride banner and opted to put it under like most of the other jackets. Anyway here's some pics of the progress thus far.

Also just an up date: I recently was lucky enough to score the back tapestry. Our current photo copy is pretty close in size and quality, however the little leopard strip is the wrong orientation and slightly undersized. When I have some free time, I promise to take some hi-resolution photos in natural light and list measurements so anyone may up-grade their photos for ordering from Contrado if the want to.

FYI I've been in touch with Popculturecrafts and they have been super busy with regular life stuff but will be able to make patches again soon. If anyone has been having trouble contacting them, just keep trying to contact them on etsy, they will respond at some point. They have always been honest, just communicating sucks sometimes.

As you can see i have jumped onon the bandwagon and decided to make my own marko jacket!
I would of done it years ago had I known it was this easy to make, now I say easy loosely, I mean just the general build of it, the actual sourcing of the items and material, a complete ball ache pain in the ass.
however after researching and more researching and more researching and multiple readings of this site. I’m giving it ago! I’m late to the game so only Have one tapestry so far and the contrado prints! Thanks for taking the time to work all that out! All of the jackets on here are great! Look forward to making mine over how ever long it will take

Nice!! Could you tell me the measurements of this? It would be cool to print this off onto canvas at the correct size as then I can have the legs too for the arm.

Yep, I'm going to try to get that info up very soon, maybe this weekend. Canvas in not correct, the correct fabric is the Chi Chi Furnishings Velour, VERY close to the original. The image we currently have is pretty close, the only discrepancy is the leopard strip is slightly undersized and there orientation is off, but the ladies and collar piece are pretty correct. Here is the correct leg piece, I just had it printed out on Contrado's sample piece.

Can you send me a good picture of your tapestry? As good as the one you have taken but with the other half showing?
I’ve started the jacket too, I have one tapestry the matador, I want to get the others printed off on to fabric, as a temporary stand in, untill I get the real tapestries, and as I could be waiting years, I would like to have a rough mock up, I can then change the pieces out with real ones when they are available, is that possible? You’d be doing me a solid.

Awesome thank you, I will do the same, and change the fabric. Thanks for those. I will probably have to get the blue sky peacock for the time being as I can use two pieces from that, that don’t show the sky, but I will just swap out the parts with a red sky one when I find one.

I wouldn't try dying it, all you will do is make a mess and waste your money. Just use the blue one as a place holder until you find a red one. As for the jacket, the original was a medium black levis but any black denim jacket will do. Also your leopard is facing the wrong way but is still totally useable. The front wont be very noticeable, just the tail in the back will not look correct. Also you could use the red sky commonly found Taj Mahal peacock. Just an Idea.
