For those that aren't into Scottish regalia, the crossbelt hardware is a standard Scottish piper's sword belt/crossbelt pattern that's been in regular production since at least the early 20th century. It's called pattern 102.

The old ones, made from c1900 to c1940, were solid German Silver. Then around the 1950s they started making them from brass which was then nickel plated. New ones are chrome.

Here are two sets I own, on the left a modern chrome-plated set, on the right a c1930 solid German Silver set.

In the old days the belt buckles were made both landscape and portrait orientation. .

Also made were matching shoe buckles, a plaid brooch, and a cap badge.

Here it appears in a Highland regalia catalogue from the 1960s

In the Army today this hardware is worn on the crossbelt of the Pipe Major of 3SCOTS (The Black Watch)

I am looking to find a set of these buckles to have a baldric made. What search terms should I be using to find sellers of these buckles? I have found lots of the cross belts but few of the buckle sets. Thanks for your help.

They show up on Ebay under "crossbelt" or "cross belt" due to that being the standard term, in the Scottish piping community.

Or "piper's crossbelt" because in the military they're only worn by pipers.

Here, I just did an Ebay search pipers crossbelt | eBay

As you see there are loads of them in the exact Barbossa pattern. Most of them are made in India or Pakistan.

I'm pretty sure that Barbossa is wearing a vintage solid German Silver set made in Scotland. For a set like that you would probably have to watch them on Ebay for a while.
