I just received my Pulse Rifle, Brown Bess # 279, and as far as I can tell, there is no barrel droop, and if there is, I can't see it, which too me is the same thing. I'm very pleased with the fit and finish of it too.
I had originally orderd mine through HGC using 6 pay, but when I lost my job I had to cancel the order. After I got my job back, I decided to wait and I'm glad I did, because I ended up getting mine through the Plasma Infusion, which was charging $885.00 with Free Shipping, they also inspected it before shipping it out to make sure there were no problems. Bill told me that the only issues he has had with any of his stock has been one where the battery cover was loose and caused the mag to stick.

How can he sell his stuff cheaper than what the manufacturer does?! Wish I had known he had t-800 busts.
I think I read somewhere that official suppliers can discount a specified amount, like 10% or something, but no more.
On another note, I'm really suprised (and also not) that a lot of HCG PR owners are planning on stripping it down for the metal shrouds so soon! I agree that the shrouds would be better suited on a fine-crafted airsoft body, but I'm amazed on how quickly the wolves are tearing into the deer!
I'm not touching mine. I might have done some of the work Art is doing if I had gotten one with a really bad droop, but mine is going to stay mint, at least as mint as it can from killing all of the bugs in the neighborhood. :lol

I think that Official Suppliers buy them with a discount....depending on the quantity they take !!!!
You have to remember, this is the RPF... this is what we do... ruin collectibles.
Seriously, I know a lot of people who were saying this long before we ever even saw a prototype. It is nice that the whole package is complete and a nice presentation piece but many of us knew when we bought this gun that it would be nothing but a donor for our own pieces. That is no slight to HCG but lets face it, they would have never been able to put real parts (like an original SPAS cage) on the Pulse Rifles. As individual collectors, we can!

Also, I don't understand why people don't want to "void the warranty". I mean, from what I hear, only when the gun really has defects like non-working electronics or severe flaws can you exchange it or have it repaired, but mostly they just offer a refund. So what warranty are you talking about? Returning your Pulse Rifle? I'd rather use the impossible-to-find aluminium shrouds on my own build then.
Maybe you want to keep it as collectors piece and resell it at a higher price later on, even though I find people who do that to be more the "investor" types and not prop collectors (nor really THAT interested in the particular prop anyways, only in the "investment"). But then again, who's to say the next owner after you sell your investment won't tear it apart for the shrouds?
I mean, I'm not "ruining" the perfect Pulse Rifle, I'm using hard-to-get parts to build a really perfect Pulse Rifle. So it isn't really destroying anything, is it?

Well after all of this, what was it 2/3 years? These did not turn out as good as I thought they might.
I am glad I have two SD/Phill's kits.
I had been holding my breath fearing I had made a bad buy.
Now I can go ahead and finish them knowing they will be the best ones possable.
Now I need the airsoft Thompson and Shot gun for the guts...

Well, thats mine packaged up and returned. The droop was a serious issue for me and should not be there for the money everyone has paid. Not only that but a bit of paint came off along where the grenade launcher pump slides. I'm sure i saw that someone on this forum had a bolt brake of as well. For anyone who has managed to get a straight one dont let anyone touch it once its displayed.
Im now going to have to try and find someone in the uk who wants to sell an airsoft version. I've only seen the kit though and i havent the skills to do it myself.

OK. I finally got a chance to get some pics of mine, #27/ 1000 and do a little photo analysis w/ photoshop.
At first I thought mine had about a 3 degree droop. But after I took the pic and did the analysis you can see mine has very negligible droop, maybe just a hair out but definitely nothing to concern me or to have to ship back for. I took the photo from about 5 feet way and zoomed in to flatten the image and reduce any lens distortion.
However, the stock locking pin on mine was stuck when I opened it, anyone have any tips on getting it loose?
Overall this is not a bad collectible (if you don't have a drooping barrel). The resin parts are definitely fragile. They are movable but you have to be very careful not to break anything. The metal parts are fantastic, especially the shrouds and stock. Again, the resin parts have a bit of a cheap feeling in comparison to the metal parts and almost feel like they don't belong on the same prop. Other than cost I am not sure why they just didn't do the whole thing in metal. I personally would have been willing to spend another $300- $500 on this collectible if it had been all metal. Again the resin parts just don't FEEL right in comparison w/ the metal parts on the gun. However, when you are just LOOKING at it they seem OK, and I bought mine as a display piece. Looks good. If you hadn't said it had the droop, I never would have noticed it.

gave them an alternate card ( debit so technically its the same account ) and still no refund
They are doing it to protect themselves and even though you may not believe it, they are protecting you too. There have been scams where someone purchases something with a stolen credit card and then returns the item, but requests cash or some different type of refund. Since they were not the legitimate cardholder, they end up getting money for nothing and the retailer is out the money he refunded and may end up eating the credit card bill too.
That being said, they should be willing to work with you if you can prove you were the original cardholder. Maybe get your credit card company involved to help you out.
