Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

I was actually on this list to get one with the final payment in hand... it was a last second decision to cancel my order in favor of freeing up the funds to cover my WETA AG order. I really struggled with second guessing my choice after the rep with HCG told me as I was canceling that they were shipping the next week. Now I'm thinking this was one of the few smart decisions I've made! :lol

It's heartbreaking that this particular piece has had such a history of being a nightmare to replicate and sell in mass. I was one of the guys who had the Icons Hero bought and paid for so I was thrilled to see HCG taking up this piece. I really do hope they get this ironed out for all involved. If and when they do, I know I wouldn't have an issue getting one later on. I mean, other than the droop issues, it really looks like a great piece!

-B89! :D

FYI
I just called HCG and spoke to the same guy I spoke to a few days ago when I asked if they still had any PR left (then, he told me "quite a few").
Today, I asked him about the wait list that is now advertised for the standard PR.
He sounded unaware that the PR had gone on wait list and suggested that perhaps they are just waiting for additional stock.
It COULD be that they are holding off on selling more until they take a look at this apparent 'droop' issue, but I'm hoping it's not because they are sold out of thier stock.
I really wanted to do the payment plan thing and none of the authorized resellers offer that.

I might be willing to sell you mine and I can do a payment plan for you if I do. I will just have to inspect and see if I have the droop. Hell, even if I don't I might sell mine since I have a resin Matsuo. Just depends on which one I like more. I'll PM you when I get a chance to open the box and inspect it. I got the OD green one if that matters to you.

Wow!! ...there is just so much going on here since the last time I had the chance to visit this thread...

I also have to agree with an earlier post which blames HCG for sending these out AFTER all the concerns voiced following tommin's first photos of the production model.

thats totally untrue.....post 52 tells a different tale... http://www.therpf.com/f9/first-imag...rine-production-pulse-rifle-90015/index3.html
HCG sent out 2 pulse rifles for a fan review from a member of this forum. ALOT of people noticed the droop then and it was told to us by the reviewer that it was a camera angle making it look like that.

Also, the droop HAS been mentioned as soon as tommin got his rifle, but to my knowledge wasn't properly adressed by him or HCG even though the droop was very apparent in the pics. It actually was the first thing I noticed after I stopped drooling over the shrouds.

Jack_Fauth; for starters, it is my understanding that HCG did receive 2 production pulse rifles. I only received ONE of those...

To everyone else clamoring over the apparent barrel droopage, I'm not saying anything else until I receive 'official' word. Mark?... Help?...

But,.... dadgum!! ...I'm just glad that I never took on the job of offering metal shrouds for under a grand!!! ...just WOW!!!

I beg to differ on the confusion issue. I'm a little disappointed in that statement.

Someone posted a picture of a SU rifle with droop, and a bunch of people were jumping all over it as canon. I never posted that picture.

I was trying to explain that every SU rifle is different.

I consider "Hero" a working thompson and working remington.

Yes, I consider that to be a "hero" too. And from all I've heard and all my freeze-framing through the movie, I believe there was only one hero, the ten-hole version. The propstore PR with the working Remington was never used in the movie in this exact form, as far as I know.

I didn't mean to say that you started the confusion, I just meant that when you referred to the original PRs with working Thompsons but no Remingtons as "stunt" version (which is the way I see it as well, a working Remington does not make a "hero", a "hero" prop is a prop used for close-ups, any irregularities are minimized etc.), a lot of people suddenly became confused and that's when the mess started. I didn't want to imply you had a window seat during Pulse Rifle class. :D

Cheers!

Tom, what is Mark's title at HCG? Is he a spokesperson or an executive officer? We need an answer from a top level guy there TODAY.

My PR hasn't arrived yet, but what was until a few days ago giddy anticipation is now simply anger and dread. :angry Even if my PR is flawless, I'll feel terrible for being the exception.

The one reply from HCG is completely unacceptable, not to mention false and dishonest. They CAN fix this if they want to, but if they'd rather "**** us over for a G.D. percentage" I can think of several legal remedies at our disposal, as I've been involved in a couple of product recalls (once for safety/product liability, once for a design flaw).

Where are you seeing this? The screw head detail is included with mine... :confused

In the photos provided of the original (for instance post #826) a screw clearly
protrudes from the grip.

It appears to be flush on the production piece. (post #808)

Not that I really care about the screw but if a claim for total accuracy is to be made....

Ok, boys and girls. Get your pitch forks and torches ready, cause number 300 out of 1,000 arrived at my doorstep, and as best as I can describe it....

NO BARREL DROOP

Pictures coming in minutes. Need to find a nice surface for you guys to dissect it. I also checked the magazine compartment and sure enough, the spas (is that what you call it?) was equal in distance.

Luck of the draw....must be one of those defective ones.

That's good news - is yours Olive Drab or Brown Bess? They're obviously from different production lots, so quality control could be better in one than the other.

Mine's BB - keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stay positive... :unsure

Did anyone get an actual shipping notice or tracking number for theirs?

I got email regarding my final payment, but since then, I haven't gotten anything.

She's the Brown Bess. Couldn't bring myself to get the Olive Green for fear that James Cameron might visit my house and bash me over the head for not appreciating his artwork. :cry

Dissect away!

His must be BB as only 250 OD were made if I remember correctly.
