Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

I just got word from Propstore that they will be trying to inspect their stock of rifles before sending them out to us in Europe. Big :thumbsup to them for taking the time to do so.

That's good news. PSL have been a pleasure to deal with throughout this thing. :)

Well I sat down and started pricing out what it would cost to replace these warped parts with real parts.

1. A Thompson M1: M1SB (10.5", Smooth barrel) “Short Barrel Semi-Auto Rifle” will cost $2000 and require some modifications.

2. A Remington 870 runs about $200 at the pawn shop.

3. A training SPAS runs about $50. It's basically an Airsoft that law enforcement use for training. A Tokyo Marui may be preferred since it has a metal stock (if you can find one).

So with about $3000 to play with, you can make a fully functional PR. Time to start saving..

I still have not gotten mine yet, but I'm not sending it back if it is one of the droopy ones. I'll apply Jack's fixes to it if need be. I've waiting to long to get this and don't want to risk not getting it back for some reason. I'm also not going to be running around with this all the time, it is going to hang on the wall and no one but me is going to notice the droop because no one but me will care about it.

Which for some reason was not used for their prototype that they showcased at conventions nor what they pictured on their website.

Which, at the end of the day, is all that really matters.

I notice a protruding screw at the base of the grip that I don't see it in the production pieces. Where's the attention to detail on that point. How do you explain that?

Not everybody who buys this piece will have a knowledge of hero vs. stunt including me. I see no mention of HCG striving for accuracy in replicating the infamous "Stunt version" barrel droop and all. Give me a break. Read Joatrash's post # 854

If you're going to buy into that kind of bull next time you're looking for a used car come see me first.

BTW is HCG going to pipe in anytime soon, their silence is deafening.

I have a feeling they will chime in soon. We're all chomping at the bit to get some news but they understandably have to carefully weigh any response they give. I'd give them until Wednsday-ish to at least let us know they're on the case.

On a happy note: PSOL just e-mailed saying they will be arriving this week and start shipping/charging payment as soon as they do. So next week will likely see TWO new major props in my living room. Wohoo!

I just found Danno's new avatar! :lol

Ah ha. Now here is where the first sign of quality control went wrong. HCG uses GP Alkaline batteries!

So I spoke with someone at HCG and they did state that the droop is supposed to be there. I told the person that I made my purchase based on the prototype pictures and it did not have the droop. I was out of town when mine was delivered so I'm past the 3 days obviously. I don't know if I will be able to return it if mine does have the droop. I was told I had to send an email to find out.

The barrel droop was a primary concern of everyone with the prototype pics. If they are saying it's supposed to be there, then that is just WRONG! The droop just makes the PR look like it's bent. No Thompson I've ever seen, including the Hero PR has a bent barrel.

Even my 11 year old looked at it and said it looked ****** UP!. And he rarely comments on any of my props.

So HCG is now lying about it to avoid responsibility?

Well that's about it for this company then - Bye bye HCG, it's been nice knowing you!

they did state that the droop is supposed to be there

I call shenanigans on that!

I'm not a PR expert in any sense of the word but I can't recall any major discussions about drooping barrels on the screen used rifles in the past; at least I've never seen anyone discuss it the way we with fanatical fervor discuss the asymmetry of Star Wars helmets.

Shenanigans I say!

So HCG is now lying about it to avoid responsibility?

It's not so much avoiding responsibility, they just can't fix it. If they were to try and fix it, the methods used would probably end up costing them more money than it would to actually make the darn thing, since Matsuo said that dismantling it destroys a lot of the inside components like the Thompson. Matsuo himself said that a recall would be unrealistic.

So at this point, expect them to say that the droop is intentional because their hope will be that you'll just decide to live with it and not think much about it. That is the only way they can secure their profit for this product, since repairing it would probably end up having them lose money on it, thus making this product of this stature a big failure.

I on the other hand will probably return it. I'm not comfortable with the idea of a company being happy with this flaw by saying it was intentional, when every piece of promotional material they've given us proves otherwise. This also paints a bad image on them because this was, as they said in the video I grabbed the screen shots from, "The flagship piece that everybody is waiting for". I expect nothing less from what they perceive as the best, and from what everyone is talking about, this is not it. This is not worth the $900+ out of any collector's pocket.
