Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

The one they have for sale for £895 is an ICONS. The HCG PR is sold out at propstore. They told me so in an e-mail. Glad I got my order in a loooong time ago.

Yes, your right, My mistake. I should have read that it was the Icons version. Doh.

Cant wait for them to get the HCG shipped to them, Did they give you an estimate of when they would be receiving them ?

I'm pretty excited now. The photos really look phenomenal and for me it's worth the wait... but I don't wanna wait anymore! *sniff*

Anyone been asked to send in their final payment yet? I haven't heard anything, but I just upped my spam filters, so I wanted to make sure it didn't get zapped. You fellow flex players still waiting for final invoice?

Well, he did say that they were going to ship the rest of them out six weeks after he opened his up, and it hasn't been six weeks yet.
I've never had a harder time counting down to a delivery date than I have for this baby. 14 years I've been waiting since I realized I could never afford an SD Studios hero and wouldn't settle for an airsoft-based or fan-made resin replica.... FOURTENN YEARS!!!! :thumbsup

Can't speak for anyone else but I've been expecting that final payment notice for longer than I ever imagined. It's been a real test of patience, but I have the distict feeling we won't have to wait much longer, and that we'll probably be getting that final payment notice in the mail any day now. Fingers crossed for luck, just in case.

FACT:
I received notification from HCG via email that the rifles would "be in stock in 5 weeks"and the date of that email was 7/16.
So it looks like we are looking at mid to late August before they ship..

Here is the actual reply:
The status is as follows:
The Aliens Hero Pulse Rifles should be in stock in 5 weeks. Production
was extended in order to provide 100% complete screen accurate
details. As soon as they are in stock they will ship.

I for one, am glad they are keeping them in the oven longer to get them just right.
Ive waited 25 years for one of these.. I can wait another month for them to get everythying perfect.

That's good news. It was pointed out to me by a friend that some of the details on the sample model that Tommin received were no longer screen accurate so it's good to know that HCG are clearing that up. I'm really looking forward to this!

Before I say anything I want to emphasise that I'm not criticising the HCG Pulse Rifle in any way, obviously I'm one of the biggest Aliens fans out there and I think it's amazing that the piece has been made to such a high level of accuracy, and personally I'm VERY excited about it and can't wait to get my hands on one!

However in our conversation my friend pointed out a couple of things that didn't initially catch my eye the first time I looked at Tom's photos of his sample version.

EDIT: I've had another conversation with my friend now and here's what we discussed:

1. The slots on the stock are in the wrong place: the back of the rearmost slot on the bottom row should line up with the front of the square 'extra' bit under the stock. It doesn't look like it's even close. Also from what we can see, all the spaces between the slots are all different when they should be equal.

2. The stock when retracted comes too far forward, so that the curved part on the right starts to block the bolt action and the front end is almost over the ejection port.

3. The eight slots in the barrel vent appear to have been milled a bit too far up and down so they encroach on the surround, also the long cut-out above the eight slots has sharp corners when they should be rounded - however all the original PR's were hand-made and machined and I've seen many slight discrepancies between each one so maybe this was HCG being super-accurate.

Man oh man.....that is nice.

I may just have to get one and tell the wife its time to fix the A/C in the car---for
the 3rd time! :)

You know what, I completely missed these details, it was a friend of mine who pointed them out.

I guess my brain was just assuming that the final product would be as close to the original reference prop (and to the prototype that appeared at Wonderfest '09) as possible that I thought I didn't need to look for any inaccuracies. It's funny how the old grey matter plays tricks like that sometimes! :)

Thanks guys for the update. I'm glad that HGC are well advised and are taking the time to deliver the most accurate possible product.

...Any more thoughts Tommin on that apparent droop of the front barrels in the photos?

Cheers,
CH

Oh, the painful pleasure of waiting for things to come! *sigh*

You think this is bad? I've been waiting since the 1900s ever since Icons announced the Hero Edition of this bad boy. Even paid in half up front. It's time to close that wound.
