Licenced Iron Man Arc Reactor for 150.00!!!

No. And what is "speach"? I don't think I have any.

THAT was your reply? A correction of spelling? WOW, did you have to google that word to make sure you were correct in my mispelling of it or are you one of them smarties that only rebut with a spelling error? :rolleyes

:thumbsup Way to go!

Exciting! Just to clarify: Making the rocketeer jetpact, or making the rocketeer and jetpack?

Always wanted a proper jetpack, ever since the film came out. I'd draw the rocket on a piece of canvas, strap it to my back, and 'fly' around the house. :D

Can't wait to see what "the company" does. And if it's not 100% accurate, we can mod it!

I think the company was called efxcollectables...Sorry for the lack of detail in my post..i was writing in a hurry at a friends house..

Museum Replicas is a horrible company. Their prototypes look nothing like the products they are selling. For example, the iron man helmets, cyclops visors, etc etc

I a really surprised people are still buying their items

Okay, so what else is available? I hadn't been looking at these before and I see this one for $150 that seems reasonable but may look nothing like the prototype.

Who has made and run these?
How much have they been going for?
Sounds like they were more, but more accurate.
I have to agree with others here that this one (well, the prototype) looks good to me, I am just curios as to what else is/was out there.
I'll have to look up JMTWOs.
Thanks!

I also want to chime in and agree with MicDavis: If you want it done right, do it yourself, these are made for the masses and corners are cut, etc. They are "good enough" and they will sell a bunch of them.
I think just being on this forum marks you as someone a little more discerning then their target audience. When they produce for us "collectors," they try harder and they charge a fortune.

I say again, if you take the 150.00 reactor and a fan made 700.00 reactor, set them beside each other then grab a randon person off the street who has seen the movie and ask them to chose the screen accurate one, this is their response: :confused

That's fine if you buy your props for the benefit of the random guy off the street, personally i buy my mine for my pleasure.

If your pleasure means dropping an additional 400.00 for something VERY similar, go for it. To each his own. Your reasoning for your purchases are no better than mine.

Man I'm on the fence about this I really want an arc reactor but hearing all these mixed opinions IDK now :wacko

Mike,
Buy it and Mod it. You could do it easy.

Brad

I was actually just thinking that and maybe hold off on the mod and wait and see what other people might do to it.

Bigbadtoystore has them for $124 right now very tempting :love

Well I plan to get one, I was VERY impressed with their MK1 helmet (own one) - not so much for their MK3 (would not buy one), but this looks great and at a price I may actually be able to afford.
I appreciate the fan made ones for their quality, and I appreciate the option of one that meets my needs that I can afford. Plenty of room for both in this world.

I would wait till they hit the street and we see pics of what the real product looks like. I would hate to be stuck with one if the production version looks junky.

Current mods needed...

I think it's a nice piece for the price, but far from accurate. I'd like to think I'm pretty familiar with the ARC.:lol

Just some things I noticed offhand:

The base is incorrect and doesn't look in proportion to the ARC.

The font on the Proof ring is way too small and I believe the wrong font.

Doesn't look like the glow ring has a "coke bottle" tint to it.

It's missing the transistors under the central slotted ring.

The central slotted ring is too big and too close to the wire-wrapped glow ring.

The central slotted ring has 9 slots instead of 8.

The screws are incorrect on the central slotted ring. One arm has a single hex head screw while the other two arms have 4 smaller hex screws. The MR piece has a single slotted screw on each arm.

The center screen is way too thick.

The Wire wraps look nice though!

Man, how does a company get the license, presumably have the cooperation of Marvel, and still miss on so many details?

And yet again we in the UK get shafted on the price.I mean seriously.....Play are charging almost three times the US price for this?Unbelievable.
