Legendary Pictures' "Godzilla" revealed?

Looks like they are going with the dorsal plates of the Millennium G.

Very hard to tell here because the head is tilted upwards but you can sort of see the cat-like features of Hesei era Godzilla in there too.

Atleast they are running with a more recognizable version of Godzilla versus Devlin and Emmrich's abortion.

We gotta see more and not a painting. It's too hard to tell what's going on other then a general idea which is that it's going traditional thank the gods of kaiju.

Hopefully he is not too action oriented like the painting suggests and the physics of his motions will match his massive size.

Yeah, Im not liking that Godzilla design. While it is faithful to the original Godzilla, it still has that "guy in a rubber" suit look.

It's definitely good to see a back to basics type of design... but I don't like the mouth and teeth. The teeth just seem too uniform and perfect.

Clearly they are sticking with atomic breath as they should. It ain't Godzilla without it.

The lightning coming from the clouds????

King Ghidorah???

But.. guy in a suit is what Godzilla is all about! :D

If not a suit, they need to do motion capture perhaps.
Godzilla has a soul. I dunno what it is, but it is. I know they would slow down the film, so any performance looked hyper at normal speed, but there was a performer inside and somehow like a muppet, that emoting came through all that rubber.

He is a character, he isn't just animal or just a force of nature striking back at us, there is some intellect going on there we don't understand. He has his purpose. Yes and HE is male. King of the Monsters. No egg laying thank you.

The Japanese have that whole love/hate thing going on with him.
Both Godzilla as hell itself arisen and Godzilla as hero.
They need to keep that element too.

Found these in my files... unused Crash McCreary concept art...

Why do we even need an American version? Just send Toho the massive budget and let them do it since they're capable of doing it right.

Seems Godzilla keeps picking up more and more dragon-like elements in its designs. Interesting mix.

I believe I read once that the Japanese insist on some things like how many fingers, I have heard there is meaning that relates to dragons.
