Leather-bound books

Hi folks,

Does anyone know a good print-on-demand house that can do a low run (1-5) of leather-bound books? The printed pages woudl be provided as high-res JPGs or another graphics format, probably only 20 - 30 pages.

Size is flexible, but I would like it to be as large or larger than a typical hardbound book.

you know... don't city libraries still regularly rebind books? I wonder if anyone with a librarian friend could do such a thing.

Back when I worked in art supplies (late 80s to mid 90s), we had an excellent relationship with Michael Rogers Press, which became a sort of boutique business after Rogers Jr took the reigns. They used to make ledger books, but I suppose the computer industry/Excel decimated the ledger book business. Anyway, Michael Rogers was alsways making the most amazing things for us - custom blank books, lined books, etc - whatever we asked for.

I bet his company could still make something beautiful for Ben, Juno, whomever.

Happy to help, Jason

Buddy of mine does custom journals, and his prices are really good.

I don't know about the logistics of doing pre-printed pages, but you can contact him and see what he can do. He's always wanting to try new things with book binding.

You can go to his site at:

(Please ignore that pink-lookin' leaf thing on the front page, and go look at the "Project Gallery." Why the hell he put THAT thing on the front page, I STILL don't know.)

Tell him The Fish sent you. ;-)
