I have a latex mask i need to modify for a costume im doing. I need to add latex to the mouth area, from a open mouth to a closed mouth. What can i use to thicken up the latex so its not so runny? Can i just apply the liquid latex onto the mask, will it adhere to the mask? What is the best paints to use, using latex mask paints are the best? where besides monstermaker could i get such paint? thank you

You can buy latex thickening agent to do that very job.

I've had quite good results using thinned down artists acrylics on latex, too.

liquid latex will ahdere very well to latex, since its the same stuff.

my freddy krueger mask i made, yes, i made my own right off the clear mold you got with the foam piece in the kit box.

i poured latex on the inside and slushed it around. once it was all covered on the inside, i let sit, and just added a lil more several times till i got the thickness i wanted of the mask.

i poured like 18 forehead sections, and got a latex bald cap, and with brushin on a lil liquid latex, then placing the pieces on there, built a full head piece from the cap.

i connected it across the chin, so in essence i had made myself a divers hood.

i placed a piece of velcro in the back neck, so once it was ppulled on, i could cinch up the slack in front on the throat.

for the ears, i had a small slice that i would reach in and pull the tops of my ears out. it made it look like my ears were melted into the sides of my head,

i then had a seperate face piece i had poured, that i spirit gummed in place.

a lil makeup stuff, to blend in the edges of the mask into my skin, and i had a skin tight very convincing lookin freddy.

oh, i used the fake thick stage blood in all the crevices and convalutions of the mask. used a Q-tip to paint it in. then a complete semi gloss clear coating of latex to seal it.

made it look wet and fresh.
