Wasn't exactly sure where to put this so Mods , if this needs to be moved I totally understand , just let me know .

I'm looking to replicate a piece of material I have that was cast in latex for use in a BTTF Marty Jacket build. This piece of fabric was given to me by the lady who was commissioned to make a jacket for a client who supplied their own materials. She was nice enough to send me a small scrap piece she had left so I could replicate it. The screen used material was cast using a light diffuser panel . I have the correct panel , but I have never worked with latex before. My hope is someone here can point me in the right direction as to what type of latex I would need to accomplish this and also what I can use pigment wise that will work with latex.. I attached some images of the material below. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

You should be able to do it with liquid casting latex. (Not the thicker brush-on latex)
From the looks of your photos, they did a skin coat into the mold, and then laid some knit fabric on the mold and poured a second (possibly foamed latex?) to bound the fabric to the latex skin.

Liquid latex smells of ammonia, and sets up by drying. Building up many thin layers tends to go faster than pouring one thick layer. The solvents have a tougher time evaporating through a thick skin which will happen with a thick pour. A fan to move the air and warmth (wind & sunlight!) helps it evaporate quicker too.

You should be able to use any latex tints, or even latex paint to color the liquid latex. adding latex paint might slow the drying time if you add a lot.

Good luck!
