Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Seriously. Why is it so hard to grasp this concept? Laam isn't doing a female version of the armor. She is doing Iron Man.

I get exactly where you are coming from, i don't understand why it's hard for males to get that she wants an Iron Man costume it's not like she's about to change her mind on the build and add a large breast chest piece to get attention her work alone is enough to gain attention because she is building a great suit. :thumbsup

But but, she's a girl. How can a girl make a costume without boobs on it? Isn't that against all costuming rules? I mean isn't it written somewhere that ALL female costumes must have a large amount of cleavage? :lol

cosplayburlesque.com will fix ya right up Fyfe!

Even the male version of the suit can look very female. Keep the stomach area thinner than a male look (kind of looks like that in the shots), possibly taper it to the waist, then make the waist/hips ratio = 0.7 (statistical ideal female shape). Not sure if that is possible with the proportions of IM.
Between that, being a smaller/slender person, and probably natural gait as well, and people will instinctively understand there is a female underneath.

Get all the proportions right and you will be turning some guy brains to mush.

I'll just leave this here for now...

Looks awesome

Any of the modelling guys wanna throw out some foamy peps for it?

Yeah armor EVERYTHING except for her hair:lol She'll be bald in no time.

Plus Laam,

Y U NO update!

I lose a couple of IQ points every time I open this thread. I'm baffled by the staggering number of people who lack both reading comprehension and functional eyeballs.

Baffled.

Yes, she's making iron MAN armor, but let's not be too harsh on those that are expecting her to give it a slimmer waist and some sort of bust.

Even the RDJ armor from the movies is hyper-realized and made to exaggerate the sexually attractive aspects of the male form (broad chest, large shoulders, thick legs, height, etc.) It's not such a terrible thing to think that a female cosplayer making a version of the armor might adjust it in the same way.

I'm just sayin' we don't need to get quite so upset when someone mistakenly thinks Laamberry is making a female version of the Iron Man armor, even though she's clearly said she's attempting an Iron Man build. It might just be an honest mistake, and not an expression of misogyny or stupidity.

When she's finished and it's clearly an Iron Man suit, all will be clear.

"There is quite clearly one particular thing going on, but it's OK if people think something else entirely is going on."

I'd have to disagree.

First page of the thread, ninth post. No ambiguity whatsoever.

38 pages in, and it still being constantly repeated, I'm afraid I'm not seeing much distinction.

But then I guess I'm not the type to jump two-footed into a thread without at least reading the first and last few posts in it.

Wow, was there really any need for such sarcastic arrogance in your replies? I can see what she's doing and it's fantastic. I have no problem grasping the desired concept, however I thought my post was a nice contribution to her thread. I did not expect a few of you fan boys to respond in such a rude manor! Your demeaning tone was totally uncalled for! Something I'm very shocked to find on this site. As it happens I read this thread when it first started up and all I saw was guys drooling over the pictures and incapable of reeling their tongues in. So I got bored. Her skill is equal to many guys here, their threads get much less attention.

Anyway, it goes without saying this thread draws a lot of attention so if any of the pep modellers stumble across the picture I found, I'm sure some of the other ladies here would be interested. As would my girlfriend. Strategic ;)

Can we all just get along!!! so who cares if it looks curvy or no, the point here is to look at the great job she is doing...you guys need to breath, calm down, smell the roses and encourage her to keep doing such a good job...

By the way 7sinzz you are right, lately here people have been to jumpy; can we just go back to admire each other's work without making such a big deal out of nothing....

You're an excellent builder Laamberry, keep up the good work. The final results will look even better!

Well 38 pages in and it's looking good as far as I am concerned. This forum is setup to provide an equal opportunity for peoples critique/advice/input. As far as builds go they are open to anyones interpretation. No one said that you have to build to movie specs unless that is what you are really going for. It is just great to see a girl be able to produce equal or even better product then some. Great job and hope to see more!

it is hilarious that Laam hasn't posted here in a month :)

also would someone mind telling me if im crazy but is the whole solid white iron man incredibly cool or am i just loopy from fiberglassing without a respirator?

You'd only be crazy if you were a girl making an armored suit without breastes...:lol

I don't really know how to say this in a PC way but seriously people just look at Laams body (kudos Laam, that is one fantastic body lol), any suit she makes that actually fits her would have to have enough room in the chest and ass just for her to fit inside it, and Laams assets aren't exactly small...

P.S. when your done putting it together post a pic of it in all white please, i really want to see that...

P.P.S. that was really not PC... oops... XD
