The head I used inside the helmet is just a little smaller than my 8 year Olds head. So probably 5 to 10 years old. Bobble head style on a 5 year old but it's all good haha. And I'm switching tactics a little. In the next day or so I will be trimming back a lot of the details I was starting on to make a plaster positive to sculpt on. This water based clay isn't cutting it so that way I can continue the sculpt with oil based clay without losing any of the work I've done so far.

The clay is water based and beginning to crack a lot. I have removed a lot of the detail work and am working on the shape of the lip on the back of the helmet. Once that's done I'm going to make a plaster mold and then a plaster positive to continue sculpting and finish the helmet. Hope it goes well.

I'm making backwards progress it seems.... I need to make the plaster mold quick, probably tonight. I feel like it's going to fall apart soon.

The plaster went.... ok.... lol. It's not perfect but that's ok. Was a little thin on the front dome part so it cracked. Fixed the cracks mostly and added more plaster. Now just smoothing the edges so they line up. Then can move forward to making my plaster positive.

Welp, major issues lol. I ended up having to fill the plaster mold in 2 seperate halves. As u can imagine this means they didnt line up correctly when trying to put them together after they dried. Oh well, itll work out lol. I will get it all sanded smooth and then fill low spots with clay. I think it will work out. This is basically just a solid base to continue the sculpt on.

Putting some work in. Really just want to get this done so I can do my full size display helmet :/ but it's good practice for the when I do mine I suppose. More pics to follow today.

Thanks man! It's slowly getting there lol. Picked up some new tools for sculpting that should help a lot. So far I have been using only 3 tools, not bad lol.

Well had a lot to correct. I feel like the shape of the dome is coming together and the the "eyebrow" area is getting closer what it should be. Still a long way to go but it's getting there lol. Haven't had much time to work on it.
