Hi guys!
I'm very proud to show you guys what I've been building over these past few weeks.
Here's my version of the Kylo Ren cross section saber as seen in the The Force Awakens visual dictionary.
This project all started when my copy of the book arrived and a few days later, I spotted one of those hasbro saber builder Kylo Ren toys. It struck me how accurate and great in size these toys were so I picked one up.
Hours of dremeling and sanding later, I had a nice shell to go and work with.
I machined most of the parts myself from aluminium and brass, salvaged some from old plumber equipement and 3D-printed a new pommel piece and PCB-chassis for the soundboard.
The saber has a Nano Biscotte v3 soundboard and the crystal is lit with a RGB highpowered LED wired for red.
I wanted to make it as accurate to the books image as possible.
