i'm going to have the face plate SLA printed once i've checked the full fit so it should be ready to rock soon!

so the dome printed !! yay:

the back of the dome is not deep enough for my noggin, going to pull the back of the mesh by a few inches and reprint

to me this is the biggest bonus of 3d printing Prototyping !!

Re: Kylo Ren: 3D Helmet COMPLETED

If anything, you are custom making small, medium, and large editions based on head dimensions, so you are probably actually doing work you may need to do later anyway.

Re: Kylo Ren: 3D Helmet COMPLETED

Would be very interested in a cast, should you ever sell some! It's looking dope.
How would you do cleanup on the print? Bondo and sand or some other form of an acetone wash?

for the faceplate I'll be having that printed by shapeways or another service whichever can do the job best for me, with a final lap polish at home if needed, sanding all those details at home even at the highest resolution in PLA would take an age

the dome will be filled with Isopon P39 (UK equivalent to Bondo) and sanded ad-infinium

the mouth plates are just small enough to fit in the Form1+ SLA printer I have access to So I'll print them up this week as well as the smaller cheek details

looking to be ready to cast by the end of the month

I'm Planning to Slush Cold Cast with Aluminium
I'll also cast with regular PU resin as a cheaper option for thoose who want to paint with Aluclad/similar

Did you try to place your helmet and compare it with pictures from same angles as the pictures has been taken?
