Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

Man, I wish I could find semi affordable C96's. Totally jealous :p

Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

I got myself a real Thorens disc too, so now I need another MGC... why do I sell these things before I realize I need them?

Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

That Hoth blaster is sweet! I may have to do that one next.

Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

I never knew those short barreled ones existed either...cool!

Do tiny hex screws with long threads even exist? Those Thorens screws would have to pass through the mount, spacer and into the gun. I have a feeling now it's covering a thin bolt head or piece of threaded rod.

Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

Great work and congrats on the MGC Marcus!

I finally reassembled my IG88 blaster and made small progress on a few other projects myself.
Can't wait for Davids parts to finish the ESB blasters :cool

We NEED somebody to machine the muzzle with uneven cubes for us :D

p.s.: you have to turn the Td124 disc, so the raised center is facing against the mount ;)

Re: Project updates 8 Oct - Blaster update. Short barrel MGC???

I scale the button heads to 6mm diameter which would be m3 size. They are available up to at lease 40mm length. I think I also saw 50mm.

Markus, your parts are on their way since Tuesday.

Re: Project updates 10 Oct - C96 update

Well, unfortunately I decided to pass on this C96 :(

And instead bought THIS one...! It was cheaper and in better overall conditioni and will not require re-bluing. Haven't finalized import yet as the dealer I was going to use is away currently.

Thanks to Markus for finding it for me.

Project updates 11 Oct - Hero macros and ESB blaster screw-up!

I left my latest Rebel ESB blaster to dry standing up on it's shoulder stock and this morning found this had happened under the weight...

The MDF extension block had split along every seam.

Fortunately I have a resin casting of the extension block from my IG88 blaster.

But first I have to make it taller and wider...

Decided to finally re-finish my hero macros so Markus sold me his extra metal transition box.

It's a nice piece, but the curved part sticks up too high and should be open.

Good thing you had a spare! Jealous of your C96, great purchase

Re: Project updates 11 Oct - Hero macros and ESB blaster screw-up!

btw, the body is magnetical. So you could use strong magnets for the mystery box' attachment, too.

Project updates 13 Oct - Hero macros and ESB blasters

I didn't realize they were magnetic...

Filled and smoothed the seams on the viewer box and it might not show up well here but I gently sprayed the edges with aluminium paint so that if they are lightly weathered, the grey primer will not show.

Nearly finished with the new extension block on the long ammo ESB blaster.

And the other version is almost done but it means destroying a clear cone tipped Singlepoint.

Re: Project updates 13 Oct - Hero macros and ESB blasters

Great progress... thanks for the pictures!

Here are a few questions for you:
- I always get confused about the use of the Kalimar vs. Seagull knobs on the Hero macros...what is the latest consensus/ what belongs where?
- Is your extension block wider, than the rear end of the STGW (because it should be, judging by the few references IMHO)
- Got a closeup of your pump? Did you already add the "strip" at the top-edges? (BTW: got my pumps yesterday....thanks a lot!)

We've talked about this recently. It's really hard to tell. But me and kurtyboy think that it seems that the Seagull knobs are on the side and the Kalimar knobs are on top of the viewer..

Re: Project updates 13 Oct - Hero macros and ESB blasters

Think its Kalimar all the way two lenses two sets of buttons.
