Reviving this old thread after watching the new Kino Blu-Rays for The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler

Does anyone have any leads on a good source for his hat? Baron's is beyond out of their minds for $500-$600.

Check and see if Jvasilitos is still doing the hats

Other than that the hat is gonna be tough to find.

Nice to see the Blu-rays released on this and “Strangler” I can finally retire my DVDs.

Hopefully they will do the series as well

You would still need to correct what he calls "blocking". You can see the mold in the background, where he has put the starting hat into the mold and probably steamed the hat until it was soft and could be shaped into the mold.

After posting this and saying you could dye the hat yellow, I went to Google images and brought up a picture of Kolchak.
And low and behold, his hat isn't YELLOW. And the ventilation holes are more the size of the hat I found, than the larger holes of the yellow hat.
The brim on the Amazon hat is also closer than the previous hat I found.
This hat (third in picture) is on Amazon.
You still need to fix the blocking on the top.

Here's my progress so far, I'm still working on the head band.

It had to be steamed and formed. The ribbon came from etsy.
