Kit Part (motorcycle?) ID needed for Doctor Who Prop

This is the bolt gun used in the Doctor Who episode The Satan Piit. I've id'ed the main gun as a Predator Light Gun, but am trying to ID the part circled in red.

It looks to me very much like a motorcycle footrest hangar (very similar to the Kawasaki struts used in the Aliens Smartgun)

Can anyone point me in the direction of the right kit? If it's what I'm thinking, it would probably be 1/8th scale or larger.

Thanks for any help :)

I just pulled off a clear piece from the ERTL/MPC Vader Tie fighter kit that looks very close to this. Maybe if someone can ID the part used on the real tie you might have it?

It does look pretty familiar, if I find something after some searching I'll report back.

Cool, are there any scans of the parts of that kit out there?
Edit: Found some scans Close, but no banana :(

I agree, it's definitely motorcycle related... I tried Googling "swing arm" and got related pics, and Tamiya.com for 1/6 scale MC kits, but alot of the kits are discontinued and have no box art to reference. IMHO tho, looks like a swing arm from what would be a top end performance motorcycle, like a cafe racer perhaps...?

Hi Birdie - one of these pulled up beside me at the lights this morning:

Look at the rear wheel. I know it's not identical, but it seems to be about the right size for your part and a very similar shape.

If so, maybe you're looking for a real part and not a kit piece?

Interesting...thanks Mike :)

Anyone know what that part is???

It looks like part of a delta box frame for a motorcycle kit. I'd have to noodle this one around a bit, but it's not a chainguard fin, as it would be much too big compared the pistol.
