Kick-Ass buy or rent?

I just bought it and I've come to the conclusion that it isn't a repeat viewing type of movie.

My biggest complaint about this movie was that it ended up being more about Nick Cage's character and daughter rather than Kick-Ass.
Other than that, it was a fun movie, but I'm stull undecided if I want to pick it up. Maybe when it goes on discount at Walmart...

And that would be my one "complaint" about the film--it seems the filmmakers didn't know whether to make it a comedy, a parody, or an action film, so they tried to include a little of each and came up short on all counts; I've never read the comics, so I can't say whether or not the film was a faithful adaptation. That said, I enjoyed it for what it was but felt it could have been better. On the plus side, it was nice to see Nicolas Cage act for a change; he hasn't done that since Bringing Out The Dead 11 years ago.

Back to the topic, I'm in the "rent it, then buy it if you like it" crowd.

I DID like the film. I really don't think that movies should have to match the comics either and that's not where I was going with my last post (sorry if it came off that way). That said, there was one thing they changed from the comics that I didn't like. It wasn't changing this item that I thought was a problem directly but more along the lines that changing this thing kind of ruined the shock value of a scene.

What I didn't like was that in the comics you had NO idea that Red Mist was the son of Genovese, which made for a GREAT betrayal when it happened. In the movie you knew all along that he was going to betray Kick-Ass and Big Daddy. This is the single thing I actually had a problem with.

In all though, I did enjoy the film. Hit Girl was great!
