I bought it. Good flick.
Once was more then enough for me. Never read the comics.
Started out serious, decent enough premise, then got very silly and totally implausible to the point I thought maybe it was a delusion in his head, that was the only way I could make it work. But I'm the freak in the room on that I am sure.

BUY IT!!! I love this movie!
I'm a fan but you'd have to be at least a little bit both a Millar and Nic Cage apologist to really go for it. There's a "Not the BEES" type moment that, for my money, beats The "BEES" moment for pure insanity. Matthew Vaughn is a really solid director and the cast is pretty awesome, though, so there's levels of enjoyability. I bought it the other day, just watched it and am watching it again now on commentary.

I thought I'd LOVE when I saw the trailers.
I was let down upon my initial viewing.
I saw it again the night before last and liked it better.
I'm going to have to agree with a lot of the negative comments posted about how it goes from start to end (premise, pacing, over-the-top action going silly, etc.)
The first half of the movie is strong in a more dramatic & comedic sense but handles the story in a more realistic way than the rest of the movie handles anything.
It is fun though. I'm not sure if I'll ever buy it or not.
I say rent it first so that way you don't feel bad for buying it if it doesn't work for you.
