Khajiit Armour Build Questions

Hi everyone,
I'm working on a costume for Katuscon, in February. I'm currently making the Skyrim Iron Armour, based on Zombiegrimm's pep files, but am stuck at the Khajiit sculpt. I'm thinking of making an appliance, rather than a mask. I ordered a replica bobcat skull to use as reference, since I think Khajiits were modeled on bobcats. Does anyone have any other sculpting tips, for either feline appliances or masks?

I'll try to take some pictures of the skull when I get home.

Thanks everyone

im no expert and this isnt much of a tip but rather a reminder. im not sure what exactly you are going for on the look, but i would highly suggest interlacing photos of the side, front and top views of the khajit from the game and your head and sculpt according to that data. some scuplts tend to mess up the scale and proportions of the thing theyre trying to become and results in an unproportioned mask. problem with that is that if you have an unproportioned mask, its not going to sell the costume well. dont get me wrong, standing alone the unproportioned masks still look good and have great detail, but its really important to get it correct to really make it look badass. im not sure what your sculpting level is and i may just be preaching to the choir, but i've got high expectations for this project, i expect you to push for a truly believable and greatly proportioned/detailed mask! (;

Laxman09,
Thank you for the Info I really don't have much to go on as for the sides. I need to take some screenshots when I get done cramming some school work in. I really would love to go for a more realistic bobcat look, since I feel like if I try to copy the game too much It'll come out more like a cartoon than real life...But I may be just crazy. As for my sculpting level, I'm still in intro to sculpting in the human form, so I'm still kind of a novice, but I pretty pumped to take this on.

Ok so I think I need a lifecast. I did have a life cast of my head but I was doing an elf mask and there were some major undercuts. I spent 4 hours chipping away at my head, trying not to hit the mother mold. I'm thinking I'm going to get that done tonight.
I was thinking the same thing about it being a large appliance so I was thinking of maybe making a sock mask of sorts where I would sew a compression or lyrca hood to hold my ears down and implement the mask on top of the hood. When I have some time I'll post a photo. But that way when I hair flock and hair punch, it would or should all blend as one. These threads are great motivators. Still don't really know where to start with the anatomical shapes but I'll try and post some pics maybe that may help. Got some of the armor pepped So I'll post photos soon.
