Kevlar1983's 2014 June/Jul Sculpture Competition

Decided to throw my hat into the ring as a late entrant and a relative newcomer. I'm currently laid up with tendonitis in my right knee with not a lot much else to do except play with clay. This is more of a personal challenge to me to try and speed up my sculpting time by giving me a deadline to finish - I'm a hobbyist, only been sculpting for little less than a year, and rarely get time to sculpt.

I'm planning a feral vampire bust - I'm not a fan of the humanoid-looking vampire and tend to respond more to a 'creature of the night' than Edward Cullen. Its looking to be a vampire bat / humanoid hybrid - maybe one of the first ancient Old demons that began the original vampiric bloodlines which got further diluted throughout the generations - skinny, old and bestial in every sense of the word.

It'll be in Super Sculpey Firm - am limited for space and I respond more to this clay than others (although I'm getting tempted a lot by WED clay).

This'll be fun :)

Beginning some detailing work on the face ... I'm taking my cue from real vampire bats and Aris Kolokontes' beautiful vampire creature sculpt that I happened across this morning whilst searching for reference. He's starting to appear!
