Kermit the Frog replica puppet (Kermit meets STAN LEE! pg4)

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (update pg2)

Kermit's finally finished, and he looks fantastic! There's a few small details I'd change if I ever make this again, but I'm really happy with how he's turned out. Already got a few great reactions from family and friends. I'd love to give him legs, but for now, I'm more than happy with how he's turned out. :)

That looks great! Very classic Kermit indeed.

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

He looks awesome!! Very classic era Kermit! I would love to learn how to make Muppets. Ernie was always my favorite!

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Congrats! He looks great.

Any closer shots of the hands/fingers? How were they to build? And what kind of rod attachment did you go with at the wrist?

What character is next?!

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

What a FANTASTIC JOB!!! Congrats on a build well done :thumbsup I am now offically jealous :)

Looking Good!!!!!

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Milo,

Your Kermit looks just smashing, and there's more than enough pressident for a legless Kermit. Remember, the first things to go on a frog are his legs.

Of course today would have been Jim's 75th birthday. He's one of the only people I never met, who I miss as dearly as I would someone I had known my whole life. Happy Birthday man! Thanks for Kermit and all the rest.

John

p.s. If you ever wanted to build another Kermit, I would gladly take your legless prototype there. I have a five month old (realllly only 5 months old) who already laughs and laughs at me with my old over stuffed Applause Kermit. I can tell already, I'm going to need something more realistic to entertain this kid. She can play with my old one, but I'm going to need a "real" Kermit to bring to life at somepoint.
PM me sometime. -J

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

UNBELIEVABLE. I am just seeing your final photos now. You nailed it man, great job!

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Its truly amazing, you really captured the feeling of the Kermit puppet

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Oh man, that is one awesome looking Kermit! Add me to the chorus of people wanting one. I went multiple times to the touring Henson exhibit which had, amongst others, my two favorite muppets: Kermit and Gobo.

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

I built a Kermit a couple years back for a Jim Henson costume and it came out very well, though I do have a couple issues with it. The main one being he's slightly too big, my hand doesn't fill the head enough so I have to use some stuffing. I'm thinking about re-building him slightly smaller.

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Just found thread. Beautiful job on this! And make me a +1 of another person who'd love to own one of these.

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

This instantly brings back old memories! Great job!

Re: Kermit the Frog replica puppet (FINISHED PUPPET pg2)

Thanks guys. I dunno if I'll be making any Kermits for anyone else, but I might make myself a new slightly more accurate one, and that potentially means finding this Kermit a new home.
