JURASSIC WORLD Owen Grady Costume

Heading to the US in September. So A. Hopefully there is an Orvis store close by, and B. That they are still in stock.

Been lurkin since the beginning of the thread. Only bought the vest and shirt so far. I'd say Orvis fishing shirts fit larger for mobility, so I'd size down. I ordered large online and exchanged for medium in store. Watch next, then modifying nerf gun for fun and adding plush Blue thing or Indominus.

got my grey one delivered the other day, it's amazing quality! But yeah I ordered medium for a fitted fit but the arms are rather baggy (my arms are bigger than average for my size) not sure whether to go for small or to just get it tailored. So I second the sizing down :thumbsup

Thanks for the awesome tip on the belt. Went to an Orvis store near Boston today and picked one up. They seemed to have several of every common size, about 15 in all on the display.

Here's our initial prototype for the Grady Henley:

We used a contrasting fabric for the front placket since we didn't have the fabric in stock. The final run will have the matching color. Also, the front buttons will be shifted to the left slightly as they should be centered between the placket edge and first vertical stitch, not centered on the entire placket.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

Dansl, where have you seen smalls for sale? I wound up getting a medium but would love a small.

When I originally ordered the medium, small was available but checking after I received it, they had run out of stock :unsure, looks like I'm getting mine altered!

Check it out guys! Here's the grey Orvis shirt:

First - slightly overexposed in direct sunlight, subtle filter added
Second - indirect sunlight
Third - indoors with filter added

He sure likes color-changing clothes!

We'll be starting on our vest shortly. I finally found some good shots of the back to confirm seams, strap placement and buckle type.

Johnny trooper just wanted to say your posts have been on point. Since Dragon*Con is just around the corner I pulled the trigger on the Jacket Maker Vest. Also thanks to keen posters I canceled my Orvis shirt Large and instead am ordering a medium from the store in Chicago along with the "secret sku store only" belt. I went with the chocolate Eastlands too. This thread has been a real LIFESAVER. Also...wallet emptier.

The only thing I am on the fence with are the J Brand Kane versus the cheaper Dillards. I feel like just going full retard considering everything I got.

I swear this site has ruined me. (But hey! If I ever go to the zoo I now have a funny outfit...)

Edit: I went with the J Brand Kane Industrial based on the unique stitching on the fly/crotch of the pants that matches the screen used pants. I didn't get a sweet price like Johnnytrooper but you can get 10% off and free shipping if you order from J Brand directly.

Thank you for the kind words, TK9336! I think you'll be happy with the J Brand's. They really feel like the real deal when you put them on. :) Post pics when you have the getup!

Right, eastlands, henley, jbrands and now the orvis belt all on their way!! hope they get here in time!! For anyone in the UK, it's the same situation as the US for the belts, call up give them code 2c7c and the size and they can tell you the store to order from, 45+7.50 express shipping.

The leathergoods for the entire film were not made by the production designers, they were bought from Dragon leatherworks, I recently spoke with the owner of the company and the guy who actually did the work. He is working on something for me now that my wife is buying me, a sheath for my cargo pockets to hold my case knife, my inhaler a challenge coin and 5 rounds for my snubnose, all in one sheath. he also made the Raptor mitts for the movie! the sheaths are very expensive but they should be easy to source, I tried getting him to send me pics of the sheath and pieces he made but he is under some order until the international release and the Art books are out. I'll forward what he sends me when I get it if you want, I want him to make me a sheath like in the movie for a knife that was made for my unit before we went to Afghanistan, so I can carry it on my belt, I hate vertical sheathes.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing this done, it was a good production design. Chris Pratt is a Gun guy and a hunter so a lot of the stuff was adjusted on set after he got it on, I'm sure. Although I did see his beautiful Marlin 1895, he described as a Savage (Savage owns Marlin so I'm sure it says it on there somewhere, Mine doesnt) and I did see the beautiful LEVER action fired 4 times on screen without a single lever movement. It pains me to see that stuff, it totally took me out of the movie and made me second guess him as an actor if he let that go.

Edit: Seems I talked to the wrong place, I spoke with Dragon Holsterworks in Ponte Vedra Fl, just wanted to update that because That guy evidently is blowing smoke and he must of told the wrong person, Cant get ahold of him now, all I have is a reciept for my payment of $250 and no product, gotta love the internet, third time I have been taken this year so if anyone mistakenly gets ahold of the guy (His name is Dale Daniels) do not give him money. I just Googled the Stuff from Dragon Leatherworks, they are the same pictures the guy sent me in my email so beware of who your dealing with. You want to make sure your dealing with Dragon Leatherworks. if its ok with them, I'll put a link here to their business. I hate to see someone use someone else's work to scam people but I guess it happens. Even worse thing is that I met him at a Wounded Veteran function where he was taking deposits for work, hope someone catches the guy. I'm calling the Sheriffs department tomorrow to see what can be done.

I'm so sorry to hear this!! I hope the guy is caught, and forced to return the money he took. :-/ Also, sorry for the full quoting, but with the edit I wanted to be sure people knew what I was referencing. Our site is www.dlwtn.com, for those looking, and each piece we make is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. We were sad that they didn't end up using our belt, but it was very cool to see the pieces they did use.

Where did you wind up getting the henley from?

well I thought I'd try my luck going direct to homespun, they don't deal direct with consumers but they were awesome in helping me out this one time, they basically had the coal miner with a little mark on it so couldn't sell it before and have had since they manufactured it so I agreed to buy it at a reduced cost, was very lucky they had anything at all, it's a large but depending on how it comes will probably get it altered so it's a fitted fit.

Just recieved a mail from Dennis that I´ll post here.

"Hi Pablo,

I was reading the thread on the RP forum, and I saw where someone was

scammed (see page 2, bottom of the page) by a company claiming to be me.

Would you be so kind as to mention on the thread that all of the genuine

stuff that comes from me has a Certificate of Authenticity (so that

people know they are getting the real thing, not a expensive fake) AND

has a serial number that I keep on file with the original owners name.

I do this for both the knife sheath and Leatherman holder. Yours is
Leatherman Holder # 011. The first four were the originals that went to

the movie set, and you are the owner of #011."

By the way, he is very nice person to deal with

Hello folks,

Dennis from Dragon Leatherworks here. You've all met my better half, Rebecca, who has posted here.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, because I don't want to run afoul of guidelines on the forum being a vendor and all.

First.. @Joker31, I'm sorry to hear that you got taken by someone posing as me. That sucks, and I hope that you can track the guy down and get your money back.
@dansl...we're working on it. We are, literally, a mom-and-pop operation. Its just me and DL Rebecca. I do the leatherworking, we share the minding of the store, and she does the marketing.

Thats it.

We've never had requests from foreign countries, and are new to import/export laws. Given that we also deal in exotic leathers (like, animals that could be on an endangered list in other countries) I have to learn the ins-and-outs of how to follow all the customs laws. It takes time to learn, and we can't afford to hire a lawyer to do it for us.

I'm doing all I can to see what it would take to open up shipping to other countries. But each country is different, there are individual rules to follow that differ from one country to the next, and learning it all is alot of work, and time consuming. We'll keep folk posted here as soon as we know what we can do, and how to do it.

Warmest Regards to all here, and a huge Thank You from both myself and Rebecca. The response to our work for the movie has been overwhelming, and I'm truly humbled.

sincerely,

Dennis aka: Dragon

Dragon Leatherworks.
