Juggernaut *UPDATE 7-13-15* Suit UP!

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 3-9-15*

I have been silent lately because I have been hustling to get this done. I have several updates but I will post them in chronological order. I have been taking as many pictures as possible for anyone that wants to make a foam suit. I have noticed that there is usually a gap in information about these suits that made it difficult for me and I want the next person to have as much help as possible. So enjoy and let me know what you think!

Some PC fans that I have rigged up, not the solution to the heat problem, but they will help. This foam adhesive was expensive, but this stuff is no joke. I wish I had used it all along.

Skinning the Chest with 1/2 inch upholstery foam. I started in the middle and worked my way out on both sides.

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 3-9-15*

The chest is done, Moving on to the abs. This time I attached the new piece to the bottom of the foam skin covering the chest piece before gluing it to the abs. This made sure that the spacing was correct and no weird clumping of material.

And this is where I am now! I have to say I am very surprised and happy with how well it is turning out. I will try and finish skinning the right arm and back today and post some pictures tonight.

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 3-29-15*

Has anyone sprayed latex before? I have seen aeveral videos about it but they dont explain alot. I have put so much work into this so far that I dont want to jack it up in the painting phase.

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 3-29-15*

hey Override how's the build going? did you determine how to paint? looking forward to seeing your build!

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 3-29-15*

I have had to take a break from the build but it is still very much alive. I hope to make a big push this weekwend with the hands and upper torso foam being finished. These will be the hardest parts to finish and the build will spped along after I finish the hands and torso.

I spent all evening yesterday cleaning my work station and getting psyched to make the big push! I need to redo the left shoulder and make it match the right one.

SOON the Juggernaut will be upon you all!!

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 6-3-15*

This is looking to be an epic build, keep it :thumbsup subscribed.

Re: Juggernaut costume *UPDATE 6-3-15*

So I finally got some work done and I am SO excited with how is turning out! The hand mechanism doesn't work as well as I wanted to, But I told my wife that unless someone from Stan-Winston wants to come help me, it will have to do. So what do you guys think? The goal was to make the hands bigger than the rest of the body to emphasize the "not human" part of the Juggernaut.

Re: Juggernaut Hand Attached!! *UPDATE 6-23-15*

The final results from tonight's work. I have the right hand done and the left hand ~ 75%. Once I get the hands acceptable, the rest of the foam suit should be easy. Then I get to try my hand at spraying latex! So what do you guys think so far? Anything I need to touch up before I go any further?

Re: Juggernaut Hand Attached!! *UPDATE 6-23-15*

Wow this is a seriously cool build. I particularly like that that you've actually gone ahead with the mechanical hands. A lot of other builds seem to have chickened out at that point. Would you consider adding a little more foam to the fingers? maybe bulk them out a little. It might make them fit more with the muscly look you've got on the rest of the body.

Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Re: Juggernaut Hand Attached!! *UPDATE 6-23-15*

wow, how awesome are those hands! I'm in the process of making my own for a hulk build-I was wondering what you used for the hands as a spring mechanism to help them close and open? I've tried a couple different materials and can't seem to find one that will not be impacted by covering the fingers in foam. great build-really enjoying watching your progress. hats off to you!!

Thanks for the compliment Cormac! I am going to add bulk to the fingers and hands, but the important thing I have learned with this build is to do layers. trying to add too much bulk at once has caused me to redo several things. The technique I have found is to add a layer, make sure everything still works, then add another and so on. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate your comments and input! It always helps to have other people critique your work because staring at it for days at a time can cause you to miss the little details.
