Looks great! I’m going a similar route with my build. I’m about halfway done with mine
Cheater cheater pumpkin eater, I see what you did with the center seam. You are a genius. That is a great way to fake the center seam. What thickness leather cut are you using?

I think with the onscreen version, the leather is so thick, it requires the two separate pieces to avoid buckling.

Looking great!!

Oh and for the build record, can you share your leather vendor name and possible online link?

I made my boot covers with different pieces but then joined them altogether into one piece mostly to have them go on easier and also to avoid losing little straps and bits of leather! It's all faux leather but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. To get the ankle curves I covered my boots in painters tape, drew on seam lines, then cut off the tape along the lines to make my pattern. I have a hidden separating zipper up the back then the ankle flap and under the foot flaps close with velcro and the calf closes with two buckles

You're looking fantastic! Yes let me know when the meetup is, I'd love to see everyone else's Silvos, I have a 3 day badge as well!

SJJ I remember you fondly from our Jyn research days and am delighted you are working on this thread as well, your eye for detail is exceptional and your help is so valuable!

Been working on the coat and the puzzle pieces of the facing and in the scene where the barrier comes down, the brightness of the barrier dissolution reveals the coat actually has a different type of fabric edging the facing/lower collar. As if the main coat is wool and the edge is a type of leather

I don't have the time to sort out this collar pattern for my current coat version and am keeping things much simpler to give the same shape effect but I found the detail really interesting. Will share some photos from my progress in a bit!
oh wow, this is an amazing picture.
I thought that was wool fabric, but this clear image shows twill fabric and canvas trimming. I'm working on mock-up sample.

Thanks! I got the leather from Tandy a few years ago for a project I never finished, unfortunately I don’t know the weight of it, but I might be heading back there to try to get more. If I do I’ll let you know.

Working on my blaster and holster. The thrift-store belt I found actually has a roller belt, but the style is a bit different from the original. Just wondering if I should bother changing it, or keep it as is….

I don't think I could give a good opinion without the loose end placed through to see what all is exposed to view while wearing

Much to my dismay I’ve noticed that the collar on my coat base has the wrong shape. I purchased an extra one at the same time (in case I screwed up) so I have an idea for how to fix it. Just not sure if my sewing skills are up for the task.

On the bright side, I should finish the boots today, I ordered the pants, and I got the red-brown scarf in the mail yesterday. Now I need to learn the right way to tie it!
