Well that just screams " I'm old and out of ideas"
there's nothing new here that I haven't seen since 1975

BTW, is that an homage to Close Encounters (The whole railraod crossing with the yellow pickup truck?)

As a teaser it really leaves me remarkably unimpressed. Part of the reason for that are all the teasers that have come before it that only resulted in movies that weren't all that great including Cloverfield. They gotta give me something more to get my interest piqued.

Rumor has it this movie is somehow related to Cloverfield. Of course that's just rumor and is likely completely wrong.

Prior to the trailer, that was the common notion.
However, Abrams already made a statement that this film has nothing to do with CLoverfield.

From what Ive heard, it is an homage to the Spielberg films from the 70's.
The basic storyline is about some kids trying to be film makers, using a Super 8 camera and they stumble across this train wreck, etc.

I thought the same thing. A teaser is supposed to well, tease and leave you thinking about it and wanting more. I could care less after watching that.

FYI a teaser trailer is in no way a spoiler.......

wasnt a fan of cloverfield, and from what ive heard, this is about the same .....but shot on super8.......and set in the 70-80ish.

Saw the trailer in the theater today...Not as dark as the bootleg version floating around the internet, so I was actually able to see the first scene in the trailer.
The first scene actually shows an extremely wide shot of the truck driving through the suburbs (Nearly identical to the wide scene in CLose Encounters where Roy Neary is driving out to investigate the power outage.)

I gotta be honest, if this movie is made in a way that accurately emulates Spielberg's film style of of the 70's, Ill be there just for the nostalgia factor...I miss seeing those 70's style films.

I agree, it was very different seeing it in the theaters, when I first watched it online I thought it was a joke and was just scenes form close encounters at first, I love area 51 and alien movies from that era so its looking good to me
