JJ ABRAMS Enterprise

I bet the enterprise gets destroyed in the end so all this fanboy b****hing is pointless. It's a movie people. Chill out. Go play in the sun. :p :lol

It's not being ignored, but thanks to the wonder of time travel, it's being altered.

Yeah, this is something the TOS fan in me is having a hard time reconciling. Given events in XI, some of my favorite TOS episodes have been time-traveled out of existence. At least for the time being.

You need to quit confirming this stuff. I want to wallow in self pity so I can go into the movie with ZERO expectations (that won't be hard), so I'll like it better.

Yeah if we have a scene of Kirk trashing a Corvette in his childhood, it must be in the movie for a reason. :lol

So yeah, do I think it's likely Kirk will trash the Enterprise to save the day in the end? Remember this is the first real exposure to Star Trek that most of their "target audience" will have. Imagine they're going for the biggest "bang for the buck" they can think of. They want to impress everyone with how reckless Kirk is, with the lengths he'll go to to win.

So sure, he'd destroy the Enterprise, if that's the only way to "win" the Kobayashi Maru scenario. :lol

I saw that someone else already mentioned the barcode scanners on the bridge... I use ones almost exactly like those at work from time to time.
here is the model I use (not sure if it's the same one in the film)

We were talking about those scanners being in the film all day today. lol
I have to say that those being in there is going to ruin the illusion of it just a little bit.

Not really uncommon to use real world things in a film. Happens all the time and folks on this board id them all the time. Still I understand what you mean if the item is something you use.
I actually don't notice most of the time and in this case it looks like it belongs and like nothing I have seen so it does not bother me. :thumbsup

I did see some Military trucks on the new BSG that were straight off an Army base and placed on a alien planet - kinda bothered me and took me out of the moment.:unsure

"Cinematic success is not necessarily the result of good brain work, but of a harmony of existing elements in ourselves that we may not have ever been conscious of -- an accidental coincidence of our own preoccupations at a certain moment of life and of the public's..."

A great man, filmmaker and actor once said that. :cool

I seriously think the ONLY thing that'll upset me with this movie is if there isn't a redshirt in the landing party who gets killed.
:):lol

Love that clip. I particularly like the way Savage mimics Kirk's movements while writhing in pain at the end. Spot on!

I just noticed in the trailer. At first the top on the 'Vette is up, then all of a sudden it's down. Apparently they didn't even have a continuity person at all.
