I don't know....

I'm anxious to hear the replies on this!

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

Absolutely no regard for design continuity.

A crime.

Matt Jefferies is probably spinning in his grave.

But if I were to take it completely on it's own, it's pretty cool.

Certainly will be able to sell a bunch more toys. Which is of course the real motivation for not using a proper Enterprise.

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

Thankfully I have personally already written the film off as non-canon.

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

Of all of the hardware and tech designers who could have taken a shot at this, and those who ultimately did work on it... and the time and effort and scrutiny that... ah fuggit. What a piece of crap.

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

why is the bridge set so far back on the engineering section? It's weird.

the blue deflector dish really is a little over the top..

and there's absolutely no need for blue lights coming out of the engine nacelles - especially for continuity sake.

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

Could have been worse (hell, it has been worse), but it should have been a helluva lot better.

Lopsided is right. Believe it or not, this angle is somewhat flattering.

Wow...that’s really, I don’t know, disheartening. I've been optimistic about this whole thing, considering Nimoy's participation in the film, but this is just so...I don't know, jarring. I had always thought that Gabe's Enterprise was too far from Mr. Jeffries design but now, after seeing THAT? It makes me long for something as close as Gabe's ship. I just...it just really makes me realize how far removed from STAR TREK this new film is going to be, and that sadly my generation has not even been considered as a demographic that matters to this production. RIP Star Trek...1964-1991. Thanks for the good times.

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

Looks like the Enterprise to me, I have no problem with it. But of course the same bashers will tear it apart as they do anything that is shown for the first time....

Re: JJ AMBRANS Enterprise

I dunno, I do like the nacelles, but the engineering section is way too small compared to the saucer section, making it look out of proportion.

Maybe when we see more, it'll look better.

Maybe its a fish-eye lens effect, but it looks out of proportion. Need to see true straight on shots to make a final opinion.
