I'm making a suit of Duke Fleed from Grandizer (Goldorak in France) for a coworker for the next Japan Expo, and all I read here help me a lot.

Hey there. Can Anyone help me ? I Took JF's Dwarf Helmet and made some changes in order to make it look alike Kyle Rayner's Red Lantern helmet. Now it has some seams And I dont know how to fill them. Also... Is there a way to hardener the EVA foam ? Anyways I am just experimenting here.

I find using decorators acrylic caulking can tidy seams up a fair bit

If you havnt gotten a sharpener get one! Best tip ever thankyou jfcustoms. Ive been using the same exacto blade for a month.

Also... Is there a way to hardener the EVA foam ? Anyways I am just experimenting here.

For the helmet I'm making, I covered it with Worbla (Worbla's Finest Art | Thermoplastics for craft, cosplay, and anything you can imagine!), and after I put mastic.
Now it's hard !

It is an awesome sharpener; I got one recently and it's really good. For hardening foam, I've just used this technique( http://www.therpf.com/f24/how-plastic-coat-foam-costume-pieces-146539/ ) for a Captain America helmet, which seems to have worked ok. It's fiddly, but gives a pretty decent finish.

I have only used these to mats for quick builds like helmets. I brought a few rolls to test them out but I noticed it hasn't got a flat surface so I just made a few items to see they are.
The over all quality of the mat is great. This is by far the easiest mat to work with, I have used about 5 different types of mats. Hoever the best mat in my opinion is still plastazote.

Its the sanson universal the same one jf uses. Got it on amazon. Thnkling posted a link to it. Get 2! That thing really works. Just constantly sharpen as you go.

hey, anyone know where i can get one of these sharpeners in the uk, it seems to be impossible to find. failing that an equivalently good one.

I've fiberglassed EVA foam and it makes a nice hard shell. It'll destroy any detail that you created, though. I usually just use it on smooth shapes.
