Anyone is offering kits of the parts to build a comlink?
nothing yet - the acorn nuts on the back I think are perfect hemispheres and the plate isn't symmetrical, I always thought it was an aircraft shim but haven't found oneI know its been a while on this one, but have any more developments been made with, say, the solder lug model/manufacturer, or the model of matrix pins...
Also wondering about the triangle bolts on the back, as well as the size/type of the lock nuts on the back too.
Me and marvin are launching our Jedi Comlink replica set this Saturday on Lowlandprops.com

We have meticulously reverse engineered all those parts in 3D-CAD, then figured out what everything was, designed the PCB and then fabricated it: partially by our supplier and partially by hand. It was not a small task and even though it's so tiny, the comlink wouldn't be complete without it.
Folks, the cartridges ARE different.
I believe the comlink is the same, there's a bubble on the right -side button that you can see on film. View attachment 1724754View attachment 1724758
but the cartridge has TWO big ICs or chips and a small component on the side. Looks like the last "tooth" on the fake plug is missing too.

I think it's very likely the modern chip is from a USB drive or something. The resin part doesn't match either. I'm trying to model the original one, but we don't have much reference.
That's because it's the backside we see! What do you think of thd9791 's assertion up thread that the PCB seen on screen isn't the same one as in the prop photos?
