JC's Space Marine!

Hey Amish!
Will hopefully have a progress update this week when I start working on the chest, and also some of the detail stuff I've been doing.
My templates are pretty much all Hasenbraus, except the helmet of course.

i think another point to think about is with the HF mats you will have to do more gluing since its 4 mats per package, vs a long continuous roll with the other foam. Also, the issue i have with HF mats is that rubbery textured side sucks to cut (at least for me), but maybe i'm just not using a good enough blade.

Hey all!

Finally getting back on track, picking up more foam tomorrow!
My battle plan is to get the main chest piece done, and then move on to using some of the thinner foam I will buy for some detail work on the thighs, shins, and knees. Once the Chest is done and has it's supports in, I'll begin working on the emblem in the center, undecided yet, but I like me a winged skull, and then move on to the shoulders and helmet(what I imagine will be the toughest parts to nail. Thanks for reading and can't wait to show you guys some more progress!

Hey guys,

Got a small update with some pics!

Picked up some more foam, should be enough to wrap up the project!
Assembled the arms I had from before then moved on to the lower chest plate, which for a reason I can't fathom doesn't fit quite right... More work to be done!

Looks great! Hasenbrau's templates look super easy to use. I'm swapping out his knee guard for the more traditional round one. Got my foam a few days ago for the bigger pieces.

Hey guys! Finally got an update!
I spent some time today cutting and assembling the chest, and will hopefully spend some more time fixing it up this weekend!

Taping and cutting templates is my least favorite part...

The legs are getting lonely I think.

I tried to get cleaner seams on this piece by taping the outside and then hot gluing from inside the seam.

Here it is with the tape removed.

In the above picture you can see the rear of the chest piece, where I actually made a mistake and will have to get it apart, I should have left the vertical seam between the flat back piece and the rest unglued and then inserted another piece of foam so that it sort of forms a block that sticks out the back a bit. Hasenbraus has a great pic that shows his and I wasn't thinking straight apparently...

(hope you're still going strong with this) Amazing progress :) What weapons are you thinking of making? (unless you've said it already and I missed it..? )

Looking forward to more updates :thumbsup

Any further updates? I appreciate the close up photos of how you connected everything together.
