JB ESB Lenses

I have a JBV1 ESB with amber lenses. It's always irritated me that they came this way. i've finally decided to do something about it. Any clue where I could pick up some correct lenses? How to get the old ones off?

Also, the dome I received...which was the second, still had some dimpleing on it from the packaging. Not to mention that it is a rather dull finish...almost what you would expect from an ANH. So, from you experts out there, what is the best approach to get a nice show room finish on the dome?

Thanks,
Shawn

If it's orange peel....tough to get out. You could try to cut polish with an automotive polish like Mazerna Intensive Polish or something similar and a power buffer with med cut polishing pad. But that's typically meant for swirl marks and micro marring in clearcoats.

Wetsanding would be the next step if polishing doesn't work. Start with a 1500 grit or so and progress to 1800, 2000 grit, etc. After that, finish with a mild cut polish and then a topcoat wax for a showroom shine.

The lenses in a JB V1 should just be hotglued on....pretty easy to pop off. Try ArtisanProps for lenses...I think that Doug had a thread in the JY not too long ago.
