Diorama # 5: "The fighting chair" (Quint's chair on the "Orca")

I have to admit I did a lot thinking before deciding if I should go ahead with this built or not.
Especially because there aren't that many detailed pics available I know it's not going to be an easy one. Anyway, after several calculations and measurements I decided to give it a shot!

Starting with the base:

I do not want to imagine what tedium carving those letters with a #11 blade was like. I am breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking about it.
