Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

definitely use the measure between two points. you can do this for each part to make sure it fits you correctly. leave some room for movement. Like Jackie said before, just make sure if you scale the parts individually, make sure you scale the same parts in the same area,

Upper Torso, Lower Torso, Neck, Hip Plates = same scale

Thigh, Shin, Boot = same scale

Bicep, Forearm, Elbow, Handplate = same scale

Have the elbow and handplate files been updated? When I was working with them, those two pieces seemed to have a different scale from everything else... unless I was doing something completely wrong. (which is definitely a possibility)

Ok IM Nation and ladman. Just tried it out with the otion to "import file" in pep designer and it looks good with the measuring tool!

Thanks for the support and the fast answers guys!

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

Lmao.....so everything but the shoulder had to be the same scale...:D

I think what they meant is that the scale should be consistent between the parts in each group. But could differ between groups. For example, the Chest and Abs could be 391 but the forearms and biceps could be 375.

That's EXACTLY right. And the shoulder bells could be 385 if you wanted. It's kinda nice that the bells are independent, because you can adjust their size to make the proportions between say a bigger torso and a smaller bicep look better. :thumbsup

I know its a little off the topic of the costume, but to keep me motivated to finish and to keep this on my mind I changed my desktop around a bit (Made the background myself)

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

its getting down to the wire for me. I still have to finish painting, assemble and mount the cannon, build one more hand, put in the eyes, arc reactor, and repulsar hands, and oh yeah all this has to be done in the next 17 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to make a small clarification, maybe I'm the only one who has done the patriot fiberglass (I still have to paint).
The thigh can be in a different scale than the shin, but the arm (shoulder, biceps and forearm) should be all the same scale. The bust is preferable to the scale of the arm, but if you can it is important to put all the pieces of the same scale as written Ladman (upper torso, lower torso and hip plate).

Nope you're not the only one. I have 2 now (1 too many) made in pep :D
I was able to make one thigh slightly larger scale than the shin on a leg, but if I'd have modified the scale much more they wouldn't have fit together well. I pepped all of my parts first and test-fitted them before even resining.

It sounds like you want to scale off of a full suit model? All of Jackie's main suit pieces can be assembled in pepakura by importing them (pic below), and then you can use point-to-point measurements to estimate the size.
