Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

Yep the boot will import in the correct place too.

sweet so i import the boot , then measure from the back of the boot to the top of the neck and i should get the right scale for all the parts ? i mean im 5'6" so do i need to get that in millimeters and then add that number to my full suit pdo ?

Look on page 18 of the thread; I've got a description with diagram halfway down for measuring torso and neck-pieces. That can be used as a start to scale the rest using point-to-point :)

I'm working towards a fiberglass version as well, but it keeps getting pushed to the back of the project line. in the past month and a half I've gotten one arm and the chest pepped and have the lower torso cut.

On a good note, there are quite a few good images on the Marvel site of the die cast figure! More at Get a Look at the Iron Patriot Figurine from Hot Toys | News | Marvel.com

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

Nope you're not the only one. I have 2 now (1 too many) made in pep :D
I was able to make one thigh slightly larger scale than the shin on a leg, but if I'd have modified the scale much more they wouldn't have fit together well. I pepped all of my parts first and test-fitted them before even resining.

great!
I tried to wear (like a dress) on the whole armor before the resin, but I modified the lower torso (creating a shingling internal slide) so when I walk I can also lower, latex gloves, so I can grasp objects , shoes with rubber soles (so you can wear them and walk), you at what point are you? you show me some pictures? I'm not posting because then copy and go to post on ebay for selling the project armor ... You can find me on facebook (Alessandro Potenza)

My personal suit is going through the bondo stages now. I resined it in entire sections to keep the shapes correct, pulled them apart, and then fiberglassed so my pieces stayed proportioned correctly. I am kind of a stickler for details, so the filling and smoothing are going to take a while, so no premier suit for me unless I get more free time. After the body work is done I'll tackle the interior liner, hinge mounts, etc. I am lining my abs with spandex, using carpet pad inside the boots and rubber treading on the outside of the fiberglass, and then urethane coated fingers.
Funny that you brought up project armor and pics, I'm thinking of selling my second suit to help finish my first one, these projects always get more expensive the more I get into them :D I'll try and get some pics of my progress up, and I'll take a look at your facebook page too. I just gotta go get some sleep now though, long day :sleep

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

I was able to finish my suit for Friday, had some parts missing ( only had one glove lol ) but it came out sweet. i wore it to Pax East, and let me tell you, after that day and i came back with out the suit on so i could actually see everything and visit all the panels, apparently i was the talk of Pax!!

I had a little bit of bad luck, my circuit board for the cannon to move was shot, one of my glove lights crapped out and before i even got to the Convention center, one of my hop plates broke, all in all it was awesome!!!

I just want to thank Jackie, laelle, and everyone who participated in making these files and all the extras that went with it. this was a lot of fun to make. I still have a lot of work to fix pieces and re make others, but i cant wait to make another one!!

ksanz- That might be one of the coolest computer desktops ive ever seen :cool Any chance of a tutorial :lol?

Thanks! I made the background in photoshop and then used the program rainmeter for all the gadgets. It was pretty easy to configure the different pieces to point to the programs or websites I wanted instead of the default ones. If you're interested I can look into compiling the skins I used into one folder you could download and load.

EDIT: Put together an installer file. Just download Rainmeter then install This file If you are having trouble editing the code to get it the way you want it let me know and I can try to help

I saw you on day 1, I remember wondering if that was the product of this thread or not. Good job man!

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

I can definitely vouge on the default settings being for an incredibly big individual. I neglected to check the default settings and upscaled it by 10%. I printed the templates and build the helm from 13mm foam. OMG it is ginormous. I might just create the entire outfit this size and make it into a home security decoy!! Loads of fun building it tho, thanks!!
