Well, wait. If you guys are going to mold and cast something, the master object's colors and materials don't matter. Just whatever you're casting with. Smoothon makes clear and translucent materials that you can add color to. So that might be an option.

Hi guys

I have been cutting and assembling the lower torso the whole afternoon till now (midnight) . Once again my scale is off . I am average build and 1.73 high . I scaled the lower torso 395 which is about 31 cm wide on the smallest section . I need approx 36 cm wide which equates to a scale of approx 465 . But my dilemma is then my upper and lower torso would become 10 cm too high . I don't think I am oddly shaped . Any guys that have my width and hight . That can tell me what their experience was and what scale they used . How do I compensate the extra hight ? ( 10cm extra seems too much to compensate and most probably will look stupid ) . My arms are scaled 378 and fit like a glove . I am getting really frustrated any help is highly apprechiated

hello Markus1981, you expose the problem of pep in fiberglass.
when you finish the construction, you get a hard object, difficult to wear, often you will notice that you can not even wear it, so I made some cuts (hand, chest and neck) and I'm using the velcro to join us again when you wear them.
You can also use magnets, but for me the velcro is the best solution (convenient and less expensive). I climbed the upper torso, in 348.690867, such as the biceps, and the measures are perfect.
1.74 am tall and weight 80kg, physical gym.

Where are you measuring on yourself for this 36cm width?

I Attached a picture ( I know it looks stupid but visualises it in a good way )
This box is 37 cm in width ( so I have 1 cm air on the sides) and depth is 26 cm. so the 395 scale works perfect hight whise , but to get the required width I need to scale 465 but that makes it 10 cm too long ( upper lower torso combined )

@irongatsu I haven't build the upper torso yet , but I think it's anyways wider as the lower torso so I think that one I should climb easily . I think I will finish building the lower torso , resin it and cut it in the middle from top to bottom and make it wider , hope it still fits then with the upper torso . Do you think that's a good idea ? Sorry for all the noob questions , but that is the first time I build a costume in pep

Well, Biggeek can't give me what I needed unfortunately. It's ok I'll just keep tweaking my model until I'm happy with it. I looked into the acrylic plastic too, if heated it could work indeed, but I'd rather print it with the right shape and mold it. If I fail this way, then I'll give it a shot with the acrylic.

If anybody is interested in the mark 4's shoulder missile, take a look at my model on GrabCAD: here Couldn't find any picture of the missile, so I had to improvise, hope you like it

the scale factor of the lower and upper torso must be the same, trust me I've done everything, missing only the right boot.

Irongatsu is right, the upper and lower torso do have to be the same size to fit together properly. You'll might be best off to build the top and bottom at your chest scale, and then lmodify it with strips if you need to. The assembled size may surprise you.

so in scaling and printing the boot to scale it seems thin and long...uhh... anyway. im going to build it and see what it looks like with the shin. the length is 356 but width is 153. ill post pics after i have it built

that faceplate from the military walkin, compared to rhodes faceplate are totally different, i see. theres alot more depth in the separation lines of rhodes. almost like the front faceplate is meant to dynamically break in pieces and retract somewhere.



unlike the military walkin faceplate where the front faceplate is obviously very smooth, flush lines.



which is weird because in that pic the face plate is just plainly raised up.

just finished an iron patriot using the files. im aware i screwed up on top and the side but i like it and im not going for 100% accuracy im not good enough for that.

It finally sunk in, now I get what you meant : 3D printed eyes outline in red translucid material to be place in front of white lenses, like the red outer part of my reactor ? That's a wonderful idea, I just gave it a shot in blender, but without a helmet in my possession I'm not sure I can get the curves right.
BUT I contacted Biggeek, the maker of my IP helmet, to see if I can get the outline of the eyes from his model, to ensure perfect fit and right curves ! Hope he accepts to help, but if he doesn't I'll work something out.
It will have to be cast in a red tinted transparent resin I think, because neither Sculpteo nor Shapeways offer a red translucid material. So regular material, then mold and cast this time.

Looks good! By the way, have you though of using my helmet model? You can export it from pepakura and shape your "eye" to the shape of my helmet file. Im pretty sure mine and Biggeek's helmet should be pretty close



By the way, i finished the first part of the "secret" project and sent it to IronLeoMan for unfolding once certain parts of this new suit are finished, i will start to release the files to all of you out there and will work on the Mk V and this new suit at the same time (i'm temporarily only working on the new suit)
