Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!

Aaah yes i see what you are talking about. I left all of those detail lines out of the model because it would be a lot harder to pep with ALL of the lines in the model (the chest and back have a LOT) so i left them out on purpose dont worry :). They can always be carved in with a dremel or soldering iron down when its finished

Hey Jackie, my god-son want to be the Iron Patriot for the im3 premiere. I want to get a hold of your files so I can size them to him. I've been practicing with my mark 8 to get the sizing right. Check it out.

That sounds like it would be awesome! The download links for the current files are on pages 2 and 5 :)

O.k. jackie i gotcha. I thought i was losing it. Thanx for the tip with the dremel. How soon for the helmet? Thanx GM

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!

My goal is the end of the week max so pretty soon! And i do plan on making two versions for the helmet: one with all of the detail lines (HD) and and one with just the basic shape without detail lines for a simpler pep

So am i to guess that the current file that you're creating is the basic version. Also could you tell me how difficult would it be to convert the basic to advanced. This will be my first build so i really don't know. ThanxGM

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!

For me to convert it from basic to HD? Not very hard at all itll be very very simple so they will be done at the same time :)

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!

Hey Jackie I was wandering how hard it would be for you to do the mark 8 arm

SALIVATING.... I think I am going to try the Foam build. Probably next week, so, as my build gets closer, the next file will come out. Should keep me plenty motivated. Excellent work!!! BTW, you putting your work out here, for free>>> YOU are the MAN and it is truly appreciated!!!!!!

You can do everything HD..lol..I'm up for the challenge..lol your doing great love what you doing so far....like everyone else i would like to do this before the premiere..knowing me it will take me months..lol..

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!

At the risk of sounding out there. How different is the HD file to the basic. Is it like i had pointed out earlier? Cause now i am at a cross roads of sorts, i had cut out all my foam ready to be glued and now learning a better quality version is to be made, i'm about to turn on the gas and breath deeply... lol GM

Working with paper, I've found it to be much easier (for me at least) to use the lower definition pepakura files, and then add the fine panel lines and gaps with different tools AFTER filling and smoothing the exterior surface of the part. In HD, folding those fine details was obviously a lot more work, caused more distortion in my shapes pre-resin, and I still found it really hard to get straight and sharp detail lines.
Anyways that's what I've been the most successful with when trying to get the most accurate finished look. As I said though, just my experience with paper, not foam.
Keep up the great work, Jackieisrockin!

Oh im sorry! I think i may have been misunderstood im sorry everyone!
laellee pretty much said it exactly :)
I meant i was only making the helmet HD and the others will remain as is. So dont worry murdoch you can keep building only the helmet will be in two versions since it is a very important part of the suit so people can chose between pepping the helmet in HD or pepping the easier version :). Kinda like how Robo's Mk IV/VI suit files dont have the detail lines for easier pepping and adding them later but sharkman's helmet has all of the detail lines put into the pep already.

I've never worked with foam..at least not for costume building...i kind of like the fine details for paper..is easier for me at least to i do my details with bondo..but laelle like you everyone has their prefference..and..Jackie i understood what you said about only helmet but was just a try..lol..

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Patriot (IM3) Pepakura Files!
