I finally finished a set of parts. I just completed printing the top rails section- 4 corners and 6 straight pieces
Add that to the 4 upper leaves corners- I’m inching my way closer day by day

So, how are we securing our top pieces on a finished surface. Model making 1-0-1 says never glue anything to a painted surface for proper adhering. I was thinking about perhaps using a screwing method but I'm still thinking this through

I used my finish nailer

I'm going to scuff the paint away and Epoxy it

Hey Kevin, this is what I was able to pull from the screenshots on the smaller ark version that I make. I 3D modeled the details inside to try and match best I could. Looks similar to the details on the lid top. Feel free to use as a reference!

yes-thank you. definitely tapers in for sure. Almost looks like a cloth covered seam covering the top of the story boards as well.

You’re welcome glad to help! Yes it could be that also. This was the only screenshot I’ve come across that shows the interior details, although it’s still hard to tell exactly what.

Also looks like the inside was finished for the opened-up close-ups. Anyone going to stain the insides to try and match the screen shot--that would be cool. Especially if you did the light show to go with it.

No. They stick out inside. Which is why they trimmed out the inside of the Ark. Probably almost a 1/4" inside

That's a nice gap. Makes sense why they dressed it
